nice cabin terrible lake

the property was ok lake was bad, ran out of propane while grilling,but did rent a pontoon on another lake and spent the day on that lake ,the bees were terrible couldn't enjoy the deck much, had to entertain ourselves indoors !

The homeowner would like to share the following: - We would have loved it if we could have corresponded over email or phone, as we attempted, to tell you about our beautiful lake and the other two that are connected via channels. Traveling between them makes for a great adventure, especially with children, as there is a resort on Second Crow Wing that has a small store and has welcomed other guests for ice cream. We are glad that you were able to rent a boat and enjoy a lake in the area. - We try hard to keep up with consumable goods in the house to keep our guests comfortable, but propane and charcoal are difficult to judge when they are needed. Nearby stations do fill propane and we could have provided that detail if given the chance. - We apologize for any issues you experienced with bees. The deck is a beloved amenity for many of our travelers, and this concern has not been a problem for past guests. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Girls Weekend

Great cabin for low-key girls weekend getaway! Everything we could need and more. Well maintained. We loved it! Only things that could be improved were the driveway (not marked well and easy to miss, especially in the dark, and some large ruts) and the dock (not safe to walk on, missing boards). Minor things compared to the spacious, homey cabin!

Marisa, thank you for your review. The weekend after your stay, this homeowner repaired both the driveway and the dock, so they are in much better condition. The driveway is usually clearly marked with a blue placard on a pole; however, the road is being widened and the pole was set aside temporarily to make way for that equipment. Girls weekend

We very much NEEDED a girls weekend and this place was perfect! The weather was not the best for going out on the lake/spending a bunch of time outside, but there was lots of other things to do at the cabin/in town. Would highly recommend!

Amazing cabin experience

The property was absolutely gorgeous! Very well maintained and clean house in a very quiet area! The only drawback was the lake, unless you are kayaking you are better off trailering to 3rd crow wing which is attached to this lake. All in all a very great experience at a wonderful house!!

Bring a boat

AWESOME cabin and yard space! The owner's were lovely to work with and even showed enough care to call us personally when a storm was moving in to let us know if the crawl space under the house if we wanted to utilize it. Only one complaint- the lake is very mucky and shallow. We did not have a boat and had to swim out our floaties ~100 yards before getting in water deep enough to even get in without feeling weeds/muck. We absolutely made it work though, and even met some neighbors that saw us struggling to swim our floaties back in and they towed us with their boat! Such a fun memory and we made the best of it! The owner recommended lots of rental places that deliver directly to the dock, but I called too late for a reservation. I would recommend getting a boat and this would be 10/10!

What a refreshing place to have deer camp. The cabin is beautiful with a perfect layout. The young one in our party had the great joy of teaching us "older folks" the ins and outs of many video games. Nice fire pit and the view from the end of the dock at night is breathtaking. wonderful cabin in a fun area

Stayed here for a girls weekend - 6 guests total. The cabin was cute & clean and perfect for our stay. We had a lot of fun in Nevis - highly recommend the Iron Horse bar! We brought floaties with the intention of laying out in the water on Saturday. The weather was nice for going in the lake but it is very weedy past the dock - we made it work and had a blast by just staying on top of our floaties instead of getting off to swim. The rooms were very clean & all of the beds were super comfortable. The owners were easy to reach by email & responded promptly to any questions we had. Will definitely consider coming back for another trip!

Very private. Owners were very quick to respond to questions. They had a well stocked home; towels, kitchen supplies, bedding, board games, & kayaks. If you want a busy, people filled lake this is not for you. If you want beauty, nature, & peace this is it!

Comfortable and well-equipped cabin in a beautiful location. We had a great stay. Enjoyed the kayaks. Note: The two upstairs bedrooms are in a big loft area, separated by a center wall. This didn't bother us, but if everyone in your group wants complete privacy in their bedroom, it wouldn't be ideal.

Spacious and well kept

The fishing wasn't great, but we did our best. it's easy enough to navigate the lake channels as well as where to go to put your boat in. They had most if not all the amenities that we thought to bring so there wasn't much of a need except for food, charcoal & firewood (i.e. skillet, dishes, utensils..etc.). I had the bedroom downstairs to myself and the closet is full of board games and extra sleeping bags, life jackets. The grill worked great and we ate like kings. All in all I think we may make this a yearly trip because of the great experience we had. Also the scenery off the deck at sunrise and sunset is something you have to see for yourself. I thank the owners so much for allowing us to enjoy their cabin for a few days, it was a much needed.

The stay at the cabin was just what we needed. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Having a bedroom on the main floor made it possible for my mom to enjoy some down time as well. The kids loved using the kayaks and the fire pit was glowing most nights.
