Once used to house animals and tools, La Maisonnette was superbly renovated in 2017 to offer all modern amenities in a charming living space accented by original wood beams and exposed stone walls. The two-story structure includes a living space, kitchen, bathroom, Italian shower and sleeping area. There is also a private terrace on the ground floor and a balcony overlooking the garden which separates La Maisonnette and the host's home. (I have deleted the hot-tub option in the property description but it continues to appear on the listing. There is no hot-tub.)

About the host
Hosted by Nancy Mettlen
Your host is American. She visited France for the first time as a university student and was enamoured! For four decades, she traveled to France several times a year while working in tourism. She retired to France in 2022.
While working in tourism, the goal she set for each tour she organized was to provide the opportunity for cultural discovery and interaction with peoples of other cultures. She offers her guesthouse now in this same spirit of cultural exchange and discovery.
She looks forward to making your acquaintance!
Why they chose this property
I made the decision to retire to France because the entire country, culture, food, and people appeal to me. But where in France? So many beautiful places. I chose Prades because it is REAL! And by that I mean authentic, quaint and not over-commercialized. Everyday, I marvel at the beauty of my surroundings: mountains, valleys, orchards, rivers. . Nature abounds! Prades is a small town where one can walk to all of the available services: medical practices, grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, etc. The fact that one walks everywhere results in a strong sense of community. We are not isolated in our homes and cars!
What makes this property unique
La Maisonnette was lovingly restored in 2017 with quality materials. The restoration maintained the original stone walls, doors, and wooden beams. But the garden is the jewel. A place of peace and tranquility surrounded by original stone walls on each side, by the host's home at one end and La Maisonnette at the other.
