Amazing stay!

We had a wonderful time at Blue Mountain Chalet 9L. There was lots to do in the cottage; ping pong, fooseball, boardgames w big playing table, sauna, campfire, etc! We enjoyed it all! All amenities were working well and ready for use! Great place to have a little vacation any time of the year! 3 minute drive to the beach and 15 minute walk to the village! Very welcoming atmosphere and beautiful cottage! Great hosts and service! Loved it and plan to go back soon!

Awesome

The cottage was as advertised, it was spacious and accommodating. Everything worked, they even provided a welcome basket that included my favorite brand of coffee, Kicking Horse 🐎! We had a great time and will book again. Our host Mary was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied with everything ❤️

We had a great time at the Chalet, will book again next year.

The Chalet was not as good as it appears from the outside. It's clean, spacious and no foul odors. Kitchen has everything you need. Overall, it is a good place for a big family. Actually, 14 adults and 6 kids can fit perfectly and comfortably in the rooms.

Family ski trip

My experience was overall good property owners were very helpful and kind the place was a nice open concept with comfy decor and a nice scenic view of the slopes my only issue was the pictures posted lead me to believe that the rooms with out bunk beds were queen sized beds but it did state in the description twin/single beds and I found it kind of cold other than the main floor which was the living room and kitchen but other than that it was a great accommodation that I would recommend to anyone that’s planning a big group trip to the blue mountains

Nice chalet with lots of beds

Enjoyed our stay! The place was easy to find on a secluded road with a nice stream in the back. Very close to Blue Mountain village, less than a 5 minute drive to the parking lot. Collingwood is only about 10 minutes down the road with plenty to do. The layout had some pro's and cons, the only real con being that there really is only one washroom which is on the main level, the second is an ensuite. My ederly mother had a hard time going from the main area to the washroom but we chalked it up as her getting her exercise. To explain better the upper level has the kitchen, living room and dining room. The main level has the main washroom and three bedrooms, one with an ensuite. All were furnished with two twin beds and one night stand. Lower level had three more bedrooms all with double over double bunks. Also a bar and ping pong table were down there which was lots of fun. A few extras would've made our stay top notch such as bar stools or any seating in the lower level, mirrors in bedrooms to get ready given the limited bathroom and a couple extra hand towels in bathrooms to last for our stay with that many people. As for other needs, there weren't any. This place was fully stocked with all the dishes, utensils, games and the biggest bonus was a second fridge for drinks! The wrap around upper deck was nice but if it was too cold the place has giant windows all around the upstairs to enjoy the scenery. Owners communication was excellent.

Expect the unexpected

This chalet is very run down and needs a little TLC. There were torn carpets, WELL used furniture, broken doors on the fridge and broken door in the basement, moldy shower curtains and mold on the bathroom ceilings. The vent in the kitchen was so dirty and filled with garage. Upon our arrival nothing was shovelled so the walk way and the stairs were very slippery. We had to shovel and lay salt down just to get our parents inside. Upon stepping inside there were no sheets on the beds nor towels??? Which was not on the listing nor was I noticed about this before had. The owner was contacted and reply very quickly but informed us that it was 120 dollars more for sheets and towels. This is outrageous as we paid a fortune to stay there… there also was no hot tub which was on the listing and stated that one was put on the property in June 2022!!! Listing also stated that wood was provided for the fire pit but NO wood was left for us! But they did give us a s’more kit??? There also were no paddles for the pin pong table and we had to ask the neighbours if we could use there. To top off the whole trip the thermostat kept kicking in and out. I would have to connect the owners (which he would respond quick) and have him turn the heat back up and at night the house would drop down to 16 degrees. My elderly parents were freezing. We would never stay here again and don’t believe it was worth the money we paid for it!!

I appreciate the feedback and gladly fix anything that wasn't up to par. However, most of the things you've stated simply aren't true. There is a pull in the carpet in the basement but we didn't think one pull was grounds for an entire new floor of carpeting. People who rent this place are very hard on it and it certainly does get some wear. I'm not sure what furniture you considered "well" used but the couches are brand new this year. We have one chair this is a bit worn but it is also the crowd favourite and the most comfortable. All tables, benches, coffee table and end tables are in excellent condition and we purchased new appliances in the summer. Yes, one handle on one freezer came off but it still functions. The shower curtains are not moldy but slightly discoloured at the bottom. We have ordered new ones and they arrive today. Yes, vents do get a bit dirty but certainly no garbage in them. Seems absurd to suggest saying someone opened up the vent and threw garbage in it - we visited the chalet after receiving this review and confirm there is no garbage in the vent. Our front steps are completely covered with a roof and they do not get snow on them. Are you sure you were staying at the right place? lol. Our listing clearly states linens are not included but for a small charge we can include them. I'm sorry you didn't take the time to read the listing. In our listing we noted that a hot tub "should" be arriving in June 2022 - it was never added as an amenity to the listing. It did arrive but hydro was not able to connect them and so we had to get rid of it and reference to a June arrival was promptly removed. The listing absolutely does not say that we provide wood. I have no idea what listing you were reading but it certainly wasn't ours. We were also not aware that the ping pong paddles were missing. We had 4 of them for the previous rental. We keep back up paddles in storage and if you had reached out we could have provided them. The thermostat is a Nest Thermostat and is set to go down 1.5 degrees at night so people can sleep better. You contacted me at 1am to say "the temperature has gone down to 20 degrees and we are freezing!". By most people's standards 20 degrees isn't "freezing". You can adjust the thermostat yourself and certainly don't need my approval to set the temperature to a comfortable level. It's renters like you that make owners not want to rent! Maybe you are more suited to the Westin.
