The view, the view. The minute you walk in, you relax because the setting is so beautiful and tranquil. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We stayed at this lovely Lake Moraine lake house for our 35th Colgate reunion this year. The house was tidy and perfect for our group of friends to stay together close to campus but in our own space right on the lake. We swam in the lake, enjoyed the outside spaces when the weather was nice, cooked meals in the kitchen, that had everything we needed and slept well in comfortable beds. The place was perfect for our trip and we'll try to get it again for our next reunion in 5 years. Highly recommend!

Jack, We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time at the lake. Thank you so much for this kind review of our property---we could not be more grateful for such thoughtful guests. Please come back and visit soon.
The location and lake access made the stay worth it. However, the house needs a deep cleaning and it’s clear that it is not regularly maintained. There were countless cobwebs,
and spiderwebs inside and outside the home, bugs, dirt and dust on the floors, walls, on all window sills, debris on the decks and outdoors spaces, etc. I spent a few hours cleaning up the inside and outside of the property before I invited my family, who live locally, over for dinner and I still felt it wasn’t clean enough. Oh and there were some used underwear left behind in one of the rooms too.
The bedrooms are small, but manageable. I would say not ideal for young children as the steps and balcony are very steep and narrow. No AC in the rooms is not ideal as it gets warm on the second level, but plenty of fans were provided.
The outdoor space is very nice and the lake access is excellent, although it is very steep to get down there and someone in my party did fall once, luckily no injury. We had a great time on the provided kayaks and paddle boards.
Overall, if you want lake access and plan to spend most of your time outside, you may be able to overlook the cleanliness/maintenance issues and have a great time.

John, I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. We did have a cleaning crew not show up, which was super rare but definitely our fault. I’m glad you got to enjoy the beauty of this location.
This was such a beautiful place! I really wanted to write a review because I was nervous before I came...but this place was so amazing for my family. We had no issues.
The hosts were super sweet. They let us in early when we arrived and provided us with everything we could possibly need. They left us a gift basket with wine and goodies and a bathroom basket with extras in case we forgot anything. A previous review talked about cleanliness, and I didn’t see any issues at all. Sometimes I think people are reviewing a five-star resort and not a camp on a lake. The bathrooms, kitchen, and bedrooms were pristine. Were there some cobwebs on the deck in the mornings, sure...but growing up on a lake I kind of expected that. We had such a fun time on both decks. The upper deck gets shade, which was great when we needed a break from the sun but still wanted to be outside.
The lower deck is packed with kayaks and paddleboards and lounge chairs. The lake is so calm, I felt totally safe letting them kayak around the property. We saw eagles and heron and tons of geese with their babies. The kids also enjoyed the bunk bedroom. There were toys and books for kids and tons of games throughout the house that we played. It was steep going down to the lake, but there is a handrail, so my kids had no problem. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better lake experience. A big thanks to our hosts!
