WONDERFUL MOUNTAIN VIEWS~PETS WELCOME~ CLOSE TO EVERYTHING, YET VERY PRIVATE.
Hello Guests, The Lake Lure and Chimney Rock were devastated by hurricane Helene in September of 2024 and the Lake is currently closed and has been drained while they are still cleaning up.
I am excited that with the rebuilding of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, many new restaurants have emerged. People ask me, "where's a good place to eat?" My reply is that all the restaurants in Lake Lure are good. "It's hard to make a living selling bad food in a small town." Lol, but it's true.
All of the Chimney Rock merchants have reopened as well as many new merchants have come to open business in Chimney Rock. The town is booming.
Please consider my cabin when looking for a weekend stay and come and visit the area. It's pretty devastated, but the area is still beautiful, and the leaves are turning.
I have lowered my rates severely to keep my housekeepers employed and to help them with their recovery from the storm.
Reach out to me if you have any questions. Thanks. Bob
~PLEASE READ MY REVIEWS~ This is a cute little log cabin, on a paved road, just off of Hwy 64 in Lake Lure. It's only 3 minutes from the Public Beach. It’s a new log cabin with all the modern comforts of home including central heat and air, washer/dryer, fridge with ice maker, and dishwasher with all the appliances. This cabin has two great bedrooms. The upstairs bedroom is very cute and has the intimate feeling of being in a loft with a view of the mountains and log bed. The downstairs bedroom is cozy with a delightful feeling of home. Both beds are Queen size and there are hang up closets in both bedrooms. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with lots of drawers for plenty of storage. The downstairs is very cozy with a cathedral ceiling and a glass wall that provides a stunning view of the mountains. There is a comfy gas log fireplace to help take the chill off at night. On the wrap around deck you can smell the fresh mountain air, hear the birds, perhaps see the local deer, and gaze at the excellent view of the mountains. The deck also has 4 Adirondack chairs and a BBQ grill. and a cute little bistro table that is excellent for enjoying dinner or morning coffee outdoors, and to soak up the wonderful view. I also have a variety of DVDs for a great 'movie night' including free popcorn. On us. Another little Plus is along with the Key to the cabin there is an 'Ingles Advantage' card for discounts at the local grocery store. So they'll treat you like a local. Come and stay at this 'Cute Little Log Cabin for Rent'. You'll love it, just like just like the others have. Thanks for considering it.

Thank you for staying. I'm glad you had a nice time and I hope you'll come back.
Cabin was cute and close to restaurants, Lake Lure town and Chimney Rock. We enjoyed eating at River View Restaurant and LaStrada. No mountain view from the cabin though.

Hi Debbie, thanks for your review. It was very nice. I'm fortunate to be able to offer a cabin for rent that IS so close to town with its shops and restaurants.
The term "mountains" around here is somewhat subjective. I used to live in Santa Fe and the view was of a 12,000 foot mountain on the horizon. It's different here. I think the highest point on the east coast is 6,600 feet. But ground level is about 700 to 1000 feet above sea level.
Santa Fe sits at 7,000. So the vertical rise of around 5,000 feet is the same at both locations. In saying that, when you're at the cabin, in the living room, looking out of the windows across the deck towards the horizon...those are mountains. Lol. Thanks again for staying. You were a great guest and I hope you'll come back.
Perfect cabin, location and so close to everything! The views from the living area were amazing. The cabin was so close to all amenities in the area and grocery too. Took daily walks right from the cabin and enjoyed the beautiful lake views all around. Perfectly stocked with all you need and our dogs were welcome too! The best!! We will definitely be back!

Thank you for staying and I'm glad you had a nice time.
I hope you'll return.
This was a great cabin! Clean, simply laid out and had all the amenities you would expect. The cabin is well positioned allowing for easy access from the road way with a gentle incline to the cabin. The host was very responsive - we would stay here again.
Cute, cozy cabin in a great location with a good price-point! The layout was perfect for our family. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking items, seasonings, etc. The washer and dryer worked great. Gas grill and patio furniture. Contacted owner regarding a minor issue and had immediate response. Would stay again.

Thanks Riley. You were a great guest. Thanks for staying.
George, I am so sorry that was your experience with the cabin. Believe me, that is definitely not the norm. I have had hundreds of guests who have had a wonderful time at the cabin, with no complaints. But the certainly doesn’t minimize the issues you had.
Believe me, I will address that with my maintenance crew and my housekeepers.
Thank you for your feedback. That's often times the best way for me to find out about and correct the problems.
Thanks again for staying and your feedback.
It was a great getaway definitely with the snowy very quiet compared to the city not a lot open but made for a relaxing weekend planning on coming back soon!

Hi Tanner. Thanks for staying and I look forward to seeing you again.
This cabin was very comfortable, clean and pet friendly! It's in a great location for the surrounding attractions. Lake Lure is still recovering from the hurricane, but the townspeople are friendly and overall happy to see out of town guests again. We would definitely stay here again.
Great cabin in the mountains! Close to grocery store, restaurants and the lake. The host was friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to return after the lake is restored in 2026!
Perfect overnight stay for us. Definitely want to come back to the area. Great cabin for a couple or small family. Our dogs loved it too

I bought my first log cabin in Chimney Rock in 1993. When I first discovered this area I fell in love with it. Our family has spent many wonderful days in this area and have memories that will last a life time. We hope you'll enjoy your stay here, and take the time to explore the many wonderful things this area provides.
Why they chose this property
As a sales person during my professional career I used to travel from Charlotte, NC to Knoxville, Tn. for sales calls. I had been looking for some vacation property for a few years and had thought about buying back in Montana. But when I remembered the winters, I came to my senses and realized the Mountains of Western North Carolina is where my wife and I wanted to send down roots for our vacation home. After traveling through the Lake Lure, Chimney Rock area for a few years I stumbled across a little one room log cabin which we soon bought. It was another little, one room cabin similar to the one I lived in while in Montana. I knew it would be a great place to start building memories. We raised our two sons there and have many fond memories of the kids swinging on kudzu vines, going to the Easter Sunrise Service upon Chimney Rock and many other fond remembrances. We still have that little cabin and have had it for over 20 years. Then in 2010 I found this cabin. Compared to the rustic old places I was used to and had lived in, in the past, it was great to find some place with the same charm that had all the conveniences of home...central heat, running water,,,inside the cabin. A place where you didn't see daylight between the logs, ha ha. Oh, the charm. Our family loves our little mountain get away and hope you also enjoy your stay here as well, and will keep us in your plans for your upcoming vacation needs. Enjoy.
What makes this property unique
Our family wants you to enjoy yourselves while your here, and please, make yourselves at home. We have put together a list of things to do while in these beautiful North Carolina mountains, as well as discounts from local business's. You can go for a great hike in the morning, or simply sip coffee on the deck as your watch the town wake up.
