Converted to a very high standard by the present owner, this spacious barn dates back over one hundred years. Surrounded by glorious open countryside, this barn is detached within a large lawned area, has lots of parking for cars and makes an ideal holiday home for families, sensible groups or a romantic and relaxing break.
The indoor heated swimming pool with large hot tub is attached to the property and has magnificent views over to the Yorkshire Dales.
Catley Hill is ideally positioned to visit a number of great towns and cities being only 9 miles from Durham City, 20 miles from the popular quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne, 10 miles from Hartlepool Marina and Historic Quay and just over an hour from the beautiful Northumberland Coast as it is from the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors. So whether you wanted to stay at home and relax in our luxurious facilities or take a trip to one of the many interesting and nearby attractions, it is up to you.

50th birthday celebrations

We all were really impressed with the house and the facilities. The pool and hot tub made the stay a fun and relaxing time. The location is ideal as we were only 5 minutes from sedgefield where we had a gorgeous meal. Would highly recommended a stay here.

Would highly recommend this property for anyone! Stayed with friends for the weekend and it had everything we needed and more! We didn’t stay with kids but we all said how perfect it would be for a family get away or a big family Christmas! Hosts were very welcoming and easy to contact! The Wifi and signal was a little hit and miss but that didn’t affect us too much. Would deffinitely stay here again!

Perfect accommodation for a family gathering

Lovely accommodation with everything you need. The children particularly loved the pool. One of the main reasons for booking was that the hot tub and pool are in the same room so the adults could supervise from the hot tub while the children played! The location is perfect - surrounded by countryside yet close to shops and amenities.The only suggestion would be that the pool could be a little warmer.

Wonderful house with great swimming pool and hot tub. Everything clean. Kitchen has everything necessary. Layout of house brilliant for whole family. Kids loved the mezzanine bedroom. Loved everything about our stay there.

Surprise family weekend getaway

The property didn’t disappoint even more luxurious than expected. The outside space with the trampoline and play equipment was well used by the little ones. Indoors was even more fun for everyone. Large pool with loads of inflatable items sometimes all thrown in for more excitement. The hot tub was a hit. The kitchen was well equipped. All bedrooms were immaculate with very comfortable beds. Lounge dining area spacious. All bathrooms were well stocked. The property was quiet no noise from traffic or other people. A beautiful peaceful oasis. All of us felt sorry to leave but felt relaxed and enjoyed our first holiday experience together. Thank you Barbara and Guy also a special thank to Marta.
