About this property

Spacious Vintage Up North Home. Family-Friendly!

Come stay in our spacious vacation home, just a few miles outside of downtown Hart, Michigan! The home is nestled on 20 acres of woods, lawn, creek, and meadow--perfect for a couple's weekend or a family get away. The home sleeps up to 10 people comfortably, and has a full kitchen with all necessary cooking tools.

The lower level has a living room with a smart TV, a kids bedroom with one twin bed and one twin-full bunk bed, and an office with a very comfortable memory-foam queen-sized sofa bed.

The ground level has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and family room. Walk out of the dining room, queen-sized bedroom, or mud room to a large wrap-around deck with a propane grill and covered eating area.

For more fun outside, a fire pit sits across the pond for s'mores making, storytelling, and night time hang outs. Trails circle the pond and take you back through the woods for a hike around the land: the perfect way to start the day, and easy enough terrain for little ones to join in the fun. There is also a large lawn and plenty of beautiful old trees to sit underneath and dream the afternoon away.

There is a long driveway with parking for up to 4 cars

The town of Hart is 5-mins away by car. It has tasty restaurants, a well-stocked grocery store, an antique shop, ice cream stand, a bar, a coffee shop and more. There is also a Mexican grocer with an excellent taqueria!

You will be a 20-min drive to Silver Lake, Silver Lake State Park, and Lake Michigan beaches; 15 mins to Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo, Pentwater, or Mears State Park; 30 min to Michigan's Adventure Theme Park or Ludington. A really beautiful corner of Michigan with lots to do and see!

Charming house in a stunning location

We loved the deck and the gorgeous scenery all around. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need. Communication was on point and everything went smoothly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

Smell musty I would suggest purchasing an ozone machine to get the smell out of the houseI would suggest bring water or filter the water before you drink itThe grounds were very nice and the bed was very comfortableThe refrigerator and freezer were full and cupboards with food. I would suggest packing that all up and removing it into maybe the garage in a separate refrigerator.I hope this helps. Good luck in the future.

Thanks for your suggestions. This is the second time we have gotten feedback about there being condiments in the fridge and food in the cupboards. We will be adjusting this moving forward. Thanks for the suggestion regarding an air purifier. It is an older home and it can get stuffy between guests, but we hope that running the HVAC system helped with improving your experience as your stay went on. Take good care!

The property is in a great private location and very spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the river, watching the birds and deer. Rachael was a great communicator and the entry was easy. The description did state it was vintage but with modern touches. Didn’t see too many of those and it needed a good cleaning. The main bathtub had a steady drip and the linens for the beds need to be replaced. Some mattresses had stains. Finding food in the refrigerator and foods in the cupboards was unappealing, not knowing if they were fresh or not. With some good TLC this place would be a wonderful stay.

We appreciate the feedback, Karen. The condiments in the fridge and food in the freezer is something we will be changing. While the bathrooms are very clean, hard water can stain over time, but it's understandable that it would seem strange if you were not used to having a well. Not too sure what the concern with the sheets and bedding were as they are all clean and fresh, but we will take it into consideration. Thanks for staying with us as we look for ways to improve our visitor experience.
