This lovely location was a dream for a nice getaway. Great hikes nearby, balk eagle sightings everywhere, and loved the cozy decor and ambiance. I hope to come back in the summer with the kids to enjoy the bunks.
Great property! This was honestly one of the most immaculate rental properties I have ever stayed at. Very clean! Unique design and lots of warm and thoughtful features. What a great stay!
This is the second time we have stayed at this property and would definitely go again. Its super well kept, super cozy and cute. The Perfect cabin in the woods escape.
Our stay was lovely and relaxing. Watching a sunrise from the hot tub was a highlight. Ghe beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals. Thank you!
This place was everything we needed and more. It was immaculate, well stocked, comfortable bedding and sitting areas, beautiful decor and the seclusion and view was awesome. My husband and I spent four nights of total relaxation.
My husband and I stayed for a weekend with friends...we had the BEST time! The cabin with clean, cute, and as described. It was equipped with fire wood, a nice grill for making dinner, and plenty of games. The cabin was very close to town and conventient. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property on a sister's trip! It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, clean, and full of all of the right necessities. The hot tub was spacious for 4 people, and a GORGEOUS view - we felt like we were in the smoky mountains. We had a somewhat last minute change to our length of stay, and the host was very gracious and accommodating. I would 10/10 recommend this property.
I stayed with a few friends for a weekend. We all were celebrating turning 40 this year! We enjoyed the VRBO immensely! We ate dinner at the Pickle Factory in town, hit up a craft sale at a Pizza Farm, enjoyed picking lavender at a local lavender farm and even stopped for pie in Stockholm! The only downside during our stay was that the hot-tub was not working. We were informed in advance and given a refund. We would definitely stay here again! Pic from a beautiful sunrise!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We’re also happy to let you know that the hot tub has been fixed and is ready for your next visit. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again soon!
What a unique peaceful setting nestled in the woods, not far from the charming stops that are close by.
Very tastefully decorated and clean. The fire pit, deck and hot tub were icing on the cake after a day of adventures.
Truly a lovely place to stay!
Absolutely stunning! This was our first time visiting Wisconsin and I’m so glad we picked here to stay. I know most people travel to get away from home but this place looked and felt like home. The host was amazing to deal with. We were in a wedding up the road and this bnb location was perfection. The house was so cute and laid out perfectly. The outdoor area was so cute and lovely to just sit and unwind. Our hot tub didn’t work so we were a bit bummed but the host could not have been nicer about it. I love little touches and the book they made with local places, things to do, things to see, was the best! We already discussed coming back to the area and staying here.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing to stay with us for your first visit to Wisconsin, we’re so glad our place felt like home for you. It means a lot to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We’re very sorry about the hot tub, the circuit tripped and shorted the board - we had an electrician out first thing Monday to ensure we get it fixed as soon as possible. We truly hope you’ll come back and stay with us again, and I promise the hot tub will be working!
Loved the peaceful setting! Took a beautiful morning walk down the road. Enjoyed the hot tub. Had a nice fire. The place is so clean and had everything we needed. Comfy beds, cozy blankets. Thank you for a wonderful girls weekend!

About the host
Hosted by Anna Kincannon
Our names are Chris and Anna. We met a long time ago over a bottle of champagne (actually over two bottles of champagne but who is counting). Chris was the waiter and Anna was the customer at a St Croix Valley, MN restaurant on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
We have come together from different backgrounds, mentalities, and cultures but there are many things that we enjoy together – traveling, hosting, making something our own, design and living and sharing spaces and time with our friends and family.
Why they chose this property
Samakya Cabins is unique because it offers both a sense of seclusion and connection in one extraordinary setting. Surrounded by 65 private acres of preserved land, guests experience sweeping bluff views, quiet forest paths, and a stillness that encourages presence and rest.
What makes this property unique
We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to be the owners of Samakya Cabins. As only the second owners of this land since 1904, we felt its magic the moment we first stepped onto the property. The land carries a history that reaches far beyond our own lifetime, and we are deeply grateful to be its stewards. It is an honor to care for this special place and to have the opportunity to share its beauty, peace, and story with others.
