About this property
Moonridge Family Lodge, Sleeps 8, Pool Table, Minutes to Lake and Slopes
Searching for the perfect family getaway? You found it!
Moonridge Family Lodge offers the cabin charm you want in a mountain vacation home and plenty of room for your large family (or two small families on vacation together), with two queen beds, four twin beds, and two bathrooms, sleeps 8 (plus 1 dog for $50 fee) and can park up to 3 cars (with large, flat parking for RV or boat).
After a day of skiing, snow play, hiking, mountain biking, or boating on the lake, curl up around a roaring wood burning fire in the large stone fireplace and put a good movie on the 50-inch tv with access to all of your favorite streaming services. There are 4 TVs in the house ready to stream your favorite shows.
KITCHEN: The kitchen has full-sized appliances include a range, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher, plus coffee machine (with coffee packets/filters) and blender. There's plenty of room for your entire group around the dining room table, kitchen eating nook, or when the weather is pleasant, outdoors on the patio.
BATHROOMS: Two bathrooms (two showers, 1 bathtub)
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: Sleeps 8
-Bedroom 1 (downstairs): Queen
-Bedroom 2 (upstairs): Queen
-Bedroom 3 (upstairs): 2 twin + trundle twin
-Loft (upstairs): twin
FOR THE KIDS: We are family friendly and have children's dinnerware, toys, a pack n' play and portable high chair for use.
Love sledding? When there's snow on the ground, our side yard is the perfect sledding hill! Bring your own sled.
We try to equip the house with everything your family will need, including games and toys for children of all ages, plus you'll love the pool table! We even have a yoga mat and light weights to get your workout in. When the weather is nice, head outdoors and use the horseshoe pit, corn hole and other outdoor games.
We have central heating downstairs and portable heaters, and in the summer months, we have plenty of fans in all rooms and window a/c units in the upstairs rooms and living area.
For the adults, there’s also a wine fridge to chill your wine to enjoy after a day at the slopes or on the lake.
A quick 10 minute walk to the Moonridge corridor, you can enjoy a morning cup of joe at Dank Donuts or Moonridge Coffee Co, and then head over to the Big Bear Alpine Zoo to check out the amazing local wildlife.
Both ski resorts and tubing are close to the lodge, and we offer access to a small garage to store all sledding/ski equipment during your stay. While we can’t guarantee snow on the ground all winter, we can recommend tons of fun snow places within a 5 minute drive!
Please note that outdoor activities are prohibited from 10:00PM - 7:00AM per city regulations. No smoking on the property, including outdoors. Subject to $300 fine. Occupancy, parking, and noise restrictions are enforced by owners and by the county. Guest is responsible for payment of fines.
Exterior security cameras are in use (driveway, front door and backyard) and may not be tampered with. Accessibility: there are a couple steps from the driveway to the front door and about 6 steps to get into the main area of the house once you walk through the front door.

Hosting gives us the chance to share the magic of Big Bear with others. There’s something special about knowing our home is a place where families and friends can come together, relax, and create lasting memories—just like we do when we’re here. Whether it’s the excitement of a snow-filled weekend, the serenity of a summer hike or a boat ride on the lake, or simply enjoying the cozy mountain vibes, we take pride in providing a space that feels warm, welcoming, and truly like a home away from home. Hearing about our guests’ experiences and knowing we’ve played a part in their adventures is one of the most rewarding aspects of hosting.
Why they chose this property
We bought our home in the Moonridge area of Big Bear because it felt like the perfect place for our family to escape and reconnect with nature. We love how close it is to the slopes, where we can ski and snowboard while the kids enjoy sledding and building snowmen in the winter. Every season offers something special—hiking and biking trails, spotting wildlife, visiting the nearby Alpine Zoo, or spending summer days kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake. Our home has become a haven for family memories, whether it’s cozying up by the fire, hosting barbecues, or just slowing down to enjoy the mountain air. Every trip to Big Bear brings a sense of excitement and calm—it’s our favorite retreat to recharge and make lasting memories together.
