Only problems we had was there isn't any soundproofing between us and the next unit. Had to listen to the neighbors conversations and kids running and playing. Also the host mentioned the train would be going by but didn't say it would be twenty feet from the bedroom. Pretty hard to get good sleep with the air horn blasting that close all night.
Very charming with a ton of character. I loved the art and the knick knacks, it looked very intentionally curated. We wish we didn't feel the need to pull the curtains though because it felt very exposed to us. Like through the windows. We had them pulled our whole visit and we missed the natural light. It did feel like a safe neighborhood though and the rows of shops/restaurants etc is a short walk away.
We loved how cute and cozy this place was and it was just a short drive from Leavenworth! Cashmere is also a hidden gem with several cute little shops.
Great place to stay if you want to be close to Leavenworth or Wenatchee. The trains were an added bonus and did not bother us. I would recommend for adults only. The knick knacks are nostalgic, but could be easily broken by young ones. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
No issues or concerns! We loved the place, it was perfect for driving into Leavenworth, not too far. Everything was clean, organized, and clearly explained!
Had such a nice stay! The home is clearly well loved and taken care of. It was in a great location for everything we wanted to do. We were honestly surprised with how many cooking utensils they had in used to rentals just having one pot one pan and one knife but they have it well stocked! I read the reviews prior so we were prepared for the train and it honestly wasn’t that bad. Would definitely stay again next time!
Cashmere is a undiscovered gem and the property is really conveniently located. It was our first time in town but we'll be back to Cashmere (though might look for quieter place). The property is charming, but it's not for light sleepers, as we could hear the conversation from the neighbors next door quite clearly. Every time they come in and out you hear it. You hear the people walking. And the trains -- they are very loud, they blow their horns at the crossing just down the road, and the big ones shake the building, and there were at least 3 between midnight Sat and 7am Sunday. We were exhausted from a full hiking so still managed a decent night's sleep, but if you're a light sleeper look elsewhere.
The place is retro, down to earth and nice. We didn't know the train ran right next to it, but it didn't bother us at all. There is a convenient coffee place right next door. One thing I would have done differently is bring our own blankets and pillows for the foldout couch, just for our own comfort... Hot pads for the kitchen and a set of tongs would be handy, but all in all everything we needed was there. Not far from Leavenworth so that was handy and the price was decent. We'd stay again. :) Thanks Chickadee.
It was clean and adorable. Loved being walking distance to the coffee shop. We slept on the pullout that was oddly very comfortable because the king bed was hard as a rock. This place was great but if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax find somewhere else. This suite is cocooned by the 5 bedroom chickadee inn and you can hear everything they say and everywhere they walk. There’s a slide so it’s kid friendly making the noise even worse. The train isn’t even that bad. Once guests checked out the vacuum running across the floor above us sounded like the floor was going to fall thru. Then the workers next door listened to music from 5:30 to 9 every evening and the radio sounded like it was in the room with us. Upon further investigation the door is directly attached to the business next door with the lock facing the wrong way. As two women staying alone this was extremely nerve wracking. I didn’t sleep that last night. The porch swing is amazing but there’s a ton of foot traffic. Overall great stay, they give you everything you need, great hosts, but lord have mercy it’s LOUD.
It was conveniently located and incredibly well stocked VRBO. The kitchen was great and made cooking easy with good equipment (pans and knives). We normally bring our own knife because we find those in rentals tend not to work great and we did not need it! The bed was also really quite comfortable to sleep on. The decoration was super fun and 1920's meet 1960's:). Yonder Cider opened at the end of our week there which was a super cool space and within the same building. The proximity to the trains was both awesome and really really close! Chickadee did what they could to help with the noise at night with the horns of the trains (ear plugs, white noise machine, etc) but they do come 2-3 times a night. Thank you for a great week!
The rooms themselves are nice and clean, and the kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils and cookware you’ll need.
Unfortunately the train running right outside has a tendency to keep you awake. There is little the property managers can do about that, though, and they have taken steps to minimize the impact.
One thing seriously missing from the experience, however, is that we could not find any method of controlling the heat. We suspect it is controlled in the associated inn next door but as we were not acquainted with the tenants next door, we had no method of changing the heat.
As far as the tenants next door, I suspect they were lovey people, but every time they left their rooms, the wall of commemorative plates in out suite rattled. Same with when the train went by.
Lastly, the info binder needs some updating. The checkout checklist is directly contradictory to the checkout message I received from the hosts.
In all though, the experience was not bad for me. It is a more affordable option than staying directly in Leavenworth—just be prepared for lots of noise.

This property is extremely clean, well furnished and decorated. It is absolutely adorable.
If it wasn’t for the train, I would definitely want to stay again. Unfortunately, this property is built in an old train depot or building that is literally next to the train tracks. We did not sleep at all the nights that we stayed.
Just a couple minor things there was four of us that stayed. There was only six towels with all of us being women. It would’ve been nice for us to have the availability of two towels, one for hair, one for your body.
There was no extra blankets or sheets. We could’ve used a couple more blankets. I did not contact the host about this.
The walls are very thin so we could hear our neighbors karaoke party till midnight. This isn’t necessarily an issue that can be fixed. It just happened to be the luck of the draw for who is next to us.
And the last thing is the welcome book that’s on the little table at the front has conflicting information then what is sent to you by the host it just needs to be updated.
Overall, the cleanliness and how it was furnished was great, but the location with the train lowered that my overall review for this property.
The Chickadee Suite is a custom property that is part of Side Street Cashmere, a multi-use historic property in a century old building. In the evening, enjoy a drink and fun events at Yonder Cider just down the block. Grab a cup of coffee at Gaucho Coffee to start your day. Shop at Brassbound Mercantile to find charming and unique artisan works crafted locally.
The train passes nearby which can be disruptive. Ear plugs are provided and sound proofing wherever possible to try to minimize the noise. For larger groups, book The Chickadee Inn, right next door which has 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
