Find your peace in our rustic mountain cabin! Located at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains, this cabin home welcomes you to beautiful Story, Wyoming. Two bedrooms offer queen size beds for a restful night as well as a full sized couch for any additional guests. A cozy kitchen awaits for home cooked meals and gathering around the table. Spacious living room area ready for laughter and memories to be made here at the Lazy JJ Homestead. We welcome you!

Load the dishwasher

Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

Place any used bed linens and towels in laundry basket. You do not need to run the washing machine!

Please take garbage out to trash can in garage. Garage door opener is to the right of the front door. ALL TRASH IS TO BE BAGGED.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

No wandering the property without a hosts guidance. The property above the cabin is PRIVATE PROPERTY. We will NOT be held liable for any injuries.

We allow 6 guests to stay at our cabin. We offer 2 beds and a large couch for sleeping. Further sleeping arrangements need to be provided by guests.

We are a family of 6 with young children and had a wonderful stay here. Enough room for the kids to play outside and they enjoyed playing games with each other inside. We loved how close this was to the mountains and the creek near by was a favorite! The hosts were wonderful. We are looking forward to coming back someday.

The cabin was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and it was a delightful respite from a long day of travel. Our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer on our way to Montana! Host was very kind and responsive, but NOT intrusive. Loved this stay and would welcome the opportunity to stay again if possible.

This property is hidden away near the forest. A beautiful, cozy and clean cabin. The area is peaceful and on a working homestead. We loved seeing the horses and geese and seeing deer and hearing all the birds. The house has beautiful handmade furniture and artwork and we even found farm fresh eggs in the fridge. The communication with the host was very easy. We really hope we can come back and stay a little longer! Highly recommend checking this place out!

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The cabin was immaculate & absolutely adorable. Quaintly furnished with a ready to use real wood fireplace it was like a magical step back in time, with the bonus of modern amenities. The hosts were readily available & ever so welcoming.

It was a great stay in a great location. Place was clean and very cozy. If you have an atv or utv its right next to a trail so thats convenient. And close to some good hiking trails as well. Overall it was a great stay.

Magnificent Mountain Retreat

The cabin was amazing! Very spacious, decorated nicely and super clean! The owners were extremely welcoming. We are looking forward to staying there again. Would definitely recommend it.

We had an absolutely amazing night at The Lazy JJ Homestead in Story. From the moment we arrived, it felt like so much more than just a place to stay.We loved getting the chance to sit and chat with Jean and learn more about the incredible history and story behind the property. We even came home with a few of Todd’s handmade signs, which made our stay feel that much more special.Jean and Todd are truly wonderful hosts, and the location is absolutely perfect. There’s something about this little cabin and the surrounding property that just feeds the heart and soul. It’s peaceful, beautiful, full of character, and the history behind it is truly one for the books.Our only regret is that we had just one night here. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend The Lazy JJ Homestead to anyone looking for a special place to slow down, connect, and experience a little piece of Wyoming history.

Very quiet place in the hills

A very Western yet fully modern cabin. Everything you need is there, from the kitchen to the bathroom to lawn chairs. And the interior is very western and comfortable too

This wonderful old cabin has been well maintained, was immaculate, and provided a splendid opportunity for silence and solitude. We enjoyed the bountiful wildlife that we encountered daily during our stay. The location provides easy access to the Big Horn National Forest, as well as several area communities with unique charm. Hosts were exceptional! They really care about their guests, and are just delightful, to boot!

It was an amazing cabin, we had a wonderful time. My daughter loved a little turtle rock there so much, she named him little Billy. Our kids enjoyed getting a little workout in at the home gym. It is close to hiking trails and a little park. I wish we had more time to explore the area. Todd and Jean are such hospitable hosts. We would definitely recommend their cabin for your family’s stay in Story.

The best hosts we've ever had, hands down. Excellent communication and incredible hospitality. Our family stayed here six nights while exploring the Bighorns and surrounding areas. The location was great for accessing both the north and south sides of the mountains. Buffalo and Sheridan are short drives.We loved sitting outside during the evenings while enjoying the views , wildlife, and fresh air.Very clean and well stocked. Everything we needed and then some! Beautiful place.I can't say enough positive things about the owners of this property. Wonderful people and very quick to respond. You guys are awesome. We, and more importantly our boys, will never forget it. We plan to make it a point to stay here again!Thank you!!!
