We stayed at Crantzdorf for four nights with family and friends. The cabin looks impressive from the outside, but that’s where the good first impression ends. Once inside, we found outdated, dirty, and even broken furniture. The master bedroom sheets hadn’t been changed, and the TV remote was extremely old and missing batteries — as were most of the other remotes throughout the cabin. The kids’ bathroom had visible mold, and none of the fireplaces were functional. After several requests, Phyllis finally sent someone who managed to get only one fireplace working. The cabin overall was not clean. They even had to call an HVAC company to address a water leak coming from the HVAC room, which guests didn’t have access to.The main deck boards were peeling and in poor condition, and much of the exterior clearly needed maintenance. This is far from the “luxury” experience advertised — the property needs serious attention and care. For the price charged, it was a disappointing and frustrating stay. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this cabin or stay here again.

Overall was a great experience. Beautiful home on a beautiful property. Only issues were mutilple showers weren’t working properly; there were segments on the deck railing that was rotting and highly unstable, which was concerning given we had 5 young children with us; O-ring on grill was defective; and outdoor fireplace wasn’t working. Other than those issues, the overall stay was great

Wonderful cabin! Great views!

Wow! This cabin won't disappoint! Our family of 23 had a wonderful time! The cabin met all of our needs. We were in direct contact with the owner, as the current property manager (Vacasa) didn't supply enough instructions. We had a couple of minor issues that were resolved quickly. We would love to stay here again the next time we are in Gatlinburg!

Excellent All Around

Absolutely beautiful property, amazing views and a great location. This spot worked perfectly for our group which consisted of infants up to adults. The description was accurate, and the lodge was incredible. The property manager was very responsive and communicated with professionalism and urgency.

Annual trip

Property is beautiful, house is extremely clean! Plenty of room for all. Both Keurigs were broken, made maintenance aware, was told they would go get one, never received. Regular coffee maker on the fritz but was able to make work. A lot of ladybugs in the home, needs to be sprayed. Spare oven fan is noisy. Nine ball is missing from pool table. Things above need to be corrected but didn’t prevent us from booking again.

This cabin is stunning.

This cabin is stunning. It will certainly accommodate a large party. The owner was active in communications and even took the time to give us a tour upon check in. Everything was clean and updated. The decor was in season and added a very nice touch. I could not recommend this property enough. It has my highest rating.

Amazing!!

My family had the great privilege to stay at the lodge for a week in August. We had 20 people in our party ranging in age from 6 to 74. The facility was clean and beautiful. The location was the perfect distance from all the activities in the cities and hiking trails. We will always remember the wonderful time spent at Crantdorf Lodge and I would highly recommend it booking a reservation.

Beautiful House - Amazing Experience!

Our company hosted it's annual retreat at the end of the summer and we could not have found a better place! The pictures don't give the property justice!! The staff was extremely accommodating and was able to be reached easily when we had a couple hiccups. The location was secluded but close enough to all of the things that Gatlinburg has to offer. We were able to run break out meetings, feed a large group, as well as relax and enjoy our weekend.

Overall great house for large groups.

The house was amazing and the students enjoyed the games and theatre room. There was plenty of room to spread out. We anticipates a pool on the property and we were disappointed that it was not. The pictures would have you assume that it was a private pool, but upon closer review it was a community pool and we never found it. Kids were fine with other amenities but were looking forward to a private pool.

Family Getaway with a View

Overall it was a great location and view. It was a nice distance between both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. What I liked about this place was they didn’t fit each bedroom with a horrific number of bunk beds just to increase number of people that could stay! The game room was so much fun for all ages! I don’t know that messaging the assistant about any issues we had got us a timely response. For example, there were yellow jackets out on porch and a clear nest of them and no one came to spray etc. so we just had to be super careful. Had an alarm of sorts going off and took an hour for a response on how to fix it. Communication would be the only item that needs improvement.

Highest Quality - Across the Board!

We enjoyed a beautiful week at the Crantzdorf for a family reunion. The cabin is beautiful, exceptionally well built and outfitted and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable! Every member of our family was entertained - from the oldest, reading their books quietly in comfortable chairs and couches, to the youngest, playing on WiFi and having many TV options in the home theater. Some adults enjoyed the World Cup on cable with a cold cocktail (courtesy of the ice machine). Lots of space and solid construction even meant the kids in the hot tub didn't disturb the sleeping babies. The time passed too quickly!

Family and friends ski vacation

I must say on behalf of my group that Crantzdorf Lodge was one of the best places that we have ever stayed!! There were 18 of us which included 14 adults and 4 older kids. We came to spend time at Ober Gatlinburg to go skiing and snowboarding which was a first for all of us. The place was so amazing that a lot of us started getting sad when it was time to leave. We were amazed at the beautiful architecture and the tedious work that must have gone into building that place. We cooked all of our food in the very equipped kitchen and it had everything we needed. Personally I enjoyed the separation that you could have if you wanted privacy and also how your group could all come together in the grand living and dining rooms. It was very cozy and we felt at home the entire time. A lot of people in our group got lost and turned around trying to first get there (because they were terrible navigators) but once there, we realized that it was in the perfect spot and you can drive straight into town with no problem. We will definitely be coming back hopefully next year for a summer vacation.

Beautiful and Spacious

The property was beautiful and very spacious! We had a really great time enjoying the fireplace, hot tub, game room and all of the many other areas of the cabin. The guys played golf on the lovely course that it overlooks and had an awesome time! We also hired a Santa that made our trip complete! It was decorated beautifully when we arrived however I wish I had known prior as I brought a tree and decorations. The only issue I had was the lack of communication from the owner. I emailed her several times several months prior with no response. A sooner response would have helped me plan a little better as I had several questions that could have been answered and some money could have been saved. I bought things to take not knowing if those things were already there ( sheets, dishes, Christmas tree, decorations. Etc..) and then the fridge down in the game room area did not have any shelving in it so we were limited to refrigerator room that we needed to feed 32 people. Other than that the place was amazing!!

Not sure the owners care

For starters, the house is beautiful and has absolutely stunning views of the mountains from the back. We had some communication challenges with the owners when we asked to move the date(s). We all had a great time and enjoyed the hot tub and game room. That said, the following were some of the frustrations we experienced during our stay. The back deck off the main level has not been maintained and has a portion that has significant damage. One of the rubber head rests in the hot tub was floating in the water upon our arrival and appears to be broken. The igniter on the grill didn’t work and it took forever to light it by hand. There are carpenter bees that have infested the kids cabin. We were only supplied the bare minimum of essentials like soap, towels, garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The pans in the kitchen are extremely old and worn to the point where we didn’t feel comfortable using some of them. The doorknobs are old and need to be replaced. My wife actually cut her finger on one of them because there was a chunk missing. The refrigerator in the main kitchen wasn’t cold enough to hold any food so we had to change the settings to get it working. The refrigerator downstairs doesn’t have any shelves and is essentially unusable. We had to power cycle the water tank because it was leaking and water had to be cleaned up. There was no laundry detergent to do laundry. There are spider webs everywhere. Owners are not actively involved.

Home away from home atmosphere.

We had an incredibly wonderful stay at the Crantzdorf Lodge for a party from age 3 to age 80. This cabin / lodge is Immaculate and Enormous. From the time we came up the driveway until we left, we were amazed by the architectural detail of the house. Crantzdorf Lodge is Amazing and furnished beautifully inside and out. The Views from the decks were spectacular. The cabin was well stocked with any supplies that we could need. The two ovens worked great for us. The showers were definitely a hit with the family. And the Kids Cabin was a bonus plus. The main floor was large enough that we had different activities going on at the same time. We loved the chair and bench outside the kitchen we could sit and talk with whoever was cooking. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with some things, we didn’t think about bringing ourselves. The floor plan of the beds was different than on the VRBO site. The bunk beds were moved to the top floor into the room that had the 2 double beds. The bedrooms on the game room floor that had the bunk beds, now have a double bed in each of them. This made us have to change the sleeping arrangements a bit. The bedroom on the top floor had a very hard mattress. And if you are one that can’t sleep with a lot of light, Do Not choose that bedroom. There is no curtain over the window that overlooks the golf course. Therefore you get the early morning light in that room. But, at night it is amazing to see the stars. I did not hear anyone else complain about their beds. The ice maker on the game room floor did not work. However, after a call to Phyllis, she stated that a maintenance call had been placed for it. She was very accommodating and did offer to bring us ice if needed. She was very apologetic. Two of the TV’s could not get a signal. However, they were not on the correct input setting. We were able to fix that ourselves. The Wi-Fi signal went out one day, but did come back on. We had read previous reviews regarding no cue tips on the pool sticks, so brought our own pool sticks with us. The sticks did indeed have tips. Cell service was a little spotty for some of the family, but that helped with the ‘no technology’ game night. We were able to fit 8 cars comfortably in the drive way . There was a visit from a mama bear and 2 cubs trying to get into the trash cans one night. Everyone was excited about that, trying to take pictures. I would highly recommend CRANTZDORF to my friends!!
