LOCAL AREA

Eagle's Nest is a gated luxury mountain community in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. If you're visiting for the first time, get ready to be amazed by the community's incredible views. Renting in Eagles Nest grants you access to many activities and amenities to make your stay unforgettable. We are located on the north side of the mountain, right next to the winery and the North Pavilion, in a peaceful little neighborhood known as 'The Overlook.'

The local area is full of fun experiences. Here are a few ideas to explore:
• Grandfather Mountain State Park is an excellent option for a day of activities. You can enjoy the provided audio tour while driving up the mountain, walk across the swinging mile-high bridge, or try the infamous “ladders and ropes” trail, which is perfect for adventurous hikers.

• Another great place to visit is Linville Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls in North Carolina. It has several trail options, so you can choose one that suits your abilities.

• If you're into hiking and beautiful views, the Rough Ridge Trail is stunning. It's a 1.5-mile hike that offers iconic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This trail is very popular for sunrise and sunset views.

• Banner Elk offers a variety of dining options for foodies. Artisanal and Chef's Table are upscale restaurants with unique farm-to-table offerings. Banner Elk Cafe & Lodge is a long-time favorite for trout dinners. LP on Main and Bayou Smokehouse both offer Cajun cuisine. Stonewalls Restaurant is known for its steaks and prime rib. Don't forget to visit Bella's for breakfast! Every Western North Carolina mountain town boasts a traditional BBQ joint, and the Pedalin' Pig is ours.

• Two skiing resorts, Beech and Sugar Mountains, are located near the cabin. These resorts offer a variety of activities year-round, such as skiing and sledding in the winter and mountain biking, restaurants, mountain-top yoga (Beech), and concerts (Beech) in the summer months.

• If you're looking for adventure, you can book a ride on the Alpine Roller Coaster, which is open year-round. It's a 3,000+ foot coaster that twists around the forest trees and lets you control the speed (up to 27mph.)

• Hawksnest Zipline Canopy Tours is one of our favorite family activities. If you visit during winter, check out their snow tube runs!

• Additionally, you can take a drive to Blowing Rock and explore its variety of shopping and restaurant options.

• Apple Hill Farm offers Goat Yoga on Fridays during the summer. And If you love animals and alpacas, you'll enjoy a visit.
