Antique (1882) gem of a home with historic Cape Cod charm just one block from Surf Drive Beach and 10 min walk to Main Street shops. This 3100 sq ft home comfortably sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms with 2 full baths and 2 half baths.

Smell the air from Surf Side beach as you amble down Shore Street and arrive at the beach just minutes later – no need to drive and look for parking! When your day at the beach is done, you are a 10 minute stroll away from the variety of restaurants and charming shops in the center of the village of Falmouth. Or if the beach isn’t your thing, the Falmouth Ferry is just a ½ mile bike ride away, allowing you to spend your day exploring Martha’s Vineyard.

Your vacation at this rustic home held within the same family for 80 years will give you a taste of the real Cape Cod, while still availing yourself of the modernized kitchen and full baths complete with dishwasher and washer and dryer units. The home is fully stocked with bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, linens, outdoor grill, cookware, cutlery, and bikes – just bring your swimsuit!

Given the proximity to the ocean, the home is primarily cooled by the ocean breezes with fans. The 3 bedrooms with the full/queen beds have window unit A/Cs for use as needed.

We ended up leaving the same day we arrived! We were totally mislead about the property, it was not as listed at ALL. The photos listed are old and to NOT depict the property. It had rotting wood, ripped screens, holes in walls, outside and inside were in horrible disrepair! There are notes all over the house do not use certain things as they don’t work. But house was listed as “6 bedroom “ and at best it is a 4 bedroom. The upper floor bedroom was locked So even if the house didn't have all the safety issues we wouldnt have enough room

The pics are accurate and up to date and the house has always been marketed as a 5 bedroom with 3 full/queen bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds each to sleep 10 people as shown in the pics. For the past 3 summers all 5 bedrooms have been enjoyed by multiple families. One of the twin bedrooms was an original maids quarters when the house was built in 1822 and the staircase to access it is not suitable for elderly people. Unfortunately when we asked this guest upon reservation if they had any elderly in their party they said no…and when they arrived it turned out most of their party was actually elderly! While that particular bedroom is not suitable for elderly people, it has been enjoyed by children and adults of all ages so the house is a true 5 bedroom. The house is in great working order and we do leave notes and a complete guide in the house for guests since the house is 200 years old and in a historic district- we want to make sure guests are clear on how to work things e.g., antique windows that have a pin system that most people are not familiar with.

Super location

The location of the this property could not be better. It’s a one minute walk to the Surf beach and a 10 minute walk to the center of Falmouth with all its great stores and restaurants. We kept the car in the driveway while we were there with our family and just walked and biked to wherever we needed to go. It is an old and historic house but was clean and efficient. Property manager was great and very helpful. Nice area and the property location was fantastic. We enjoyed are stay there very much.
