Clean rooms, AC, heat units, no crockpot but cookware was present. VRBO booking covers bedding & towels. Communication with property manager is just not great, but everything else about the stay was as expected
We wanted a secluded cabin with a hot tub. The property isn’t secluded. 2 neighboring cabins are within close view. There’s nothing to do in winter and we were excited to be tucked away in the woods for Valentine’s weekend. Much to our disappointment, the hot tub was absolutely gross. Scum and black chunks from the jets floating on the water. I sat there with the net, trying to scoop it out and the net was full everytime. I gave up and we didn't use it again. The paper that says it's been sanitized. Total lie. If it's been sanitized, I’d hate to see what it’s like when it hasn’t been sanitized. We wanted to spend most of our time in it. Instead, we went driving around in a snow/ice storm to pass the time we planned to be in the hot tub. The listing says specifically “Bedsheets provided” and it also says you can pay extra for sheets. We brought our own to be safe. The stained mattress protector isn’t a great thing to walk into either. Wouldnt recommend.

We are so sorry your stay wasn’t perfect for you. We strive so hard for customer satisfaction. Yes, you can see 2 of our other cabins at a distance from the Happy Bear. But, no close neighbors! We had the hot tub serviced the day of check in. We also serviced the day of your departure. No issues were present whatsoever. The black chunks you witnessed could have been from your bathing suits, towels, or from hair/body products. Our cleaning crew cleans our cabins throughly between all guests. I personally checked the mattress cover after your review and no stains were present.. Cook Forest definitely does not have much of a night life, it is more outdoor and family oriented! Cook Forest actually had a big event going on during your stay, “Snowman in the Forest”. However, some local establishments did close early because of the winter weather advisory we were under.
