The view was very nice. The home reeks of a smell similar to moth balls. It’s very strong. The ground around the outdoor fire pit is not level and not safe. I do not recommend this home to rent.

Stinky and filthy

It stunk so bad and it was dirty. Wiring sticking out of the wall heater, the font of it had the coils exposed and another one was falling off the wall. There was water damage under the kitchen sink and also look like there could be mold. The sink in the bathroom doesn’t drain well so there is a paper telling you use it sparingly. The water is hook up backwards on the shower so they wrote it with are sharply on the shower wall. The house around it are falling apart and are like hoarders . The was very nice and did refund or stay, but I wouldn’t stay that house until it was repaired.

This lake house was about perfect for what we were looking to do. We loved the charm of this old house and the character that has been allowed to remain through remodels over the years. Suggested improvements would be:1: a hand rail up the stairs to the front porch. While not code required, I am recovering from a broken leg and the steps were a bit steep to climb without something to hold on to. 2: A screen door on one of the front doors would be a fantastic add so that we could get fresh air without mosquitoes into the main rooms.3: less air "freshners"... overwhelmingly bad!!! (and I am allergic to "perfumes").4: towel bars OR hooks in the bathroom to hang bath towels...5: a second night stand in the "master" bedroom... to keep things off the floor6: The king bed was REALLY firm! I didn't mind, but my husband complained a lot. The biggest issue was related to the mice and the smell. Other complaints are of an overwhelming mothball like smell. We discovered it was a nasty air "freshener" to cover the mouse smell. Unplugged that and it was better. The mouse stench was terrible though!!!!! We bought mouse traps and did catch one unlucky sucker! There were mouse droppings on our comforter, all over the bathroom and in the kitchen. Everything needs DEEP cleaning. If not for the mouse droppings and smell... we could have easily looked past the rest as we did love the charm! One other note... be prepared to drive through the "ghetto" to get here.
