Your 3 bedroom 2 bath casa with parking is located just two houses (a 30 second walk to the west) from the sand at the world famous La Jolla Windansea Beach.

Savor the salty air and see incredible sunsets, including an occasional Green Flash when the horizon is a clear crisp line. Land's end here, where the Pacific kisses the California coast is hard to top.

Built in 1926 (and tastefully remodeled in 2012), your vacation awaits.

We have many beach toys for you, surf/body boards, beach chairs, a BBQ, old-fashioned floor heaters (the best!), air-conditioners, and a new laundry. We have a pack 'n play, toys, and high chair/booster seat combination.

Relax in the private patio or spend the evening in the cozy living room with tall coved ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace.

We also provide an office/den for the business traveler. (Or enjoy a peaceful breakfast there.)

The centrally located dining room can be the focus for a family vacation or serve as a quiet dining experience for adult vacationers. It’s easy and fun to prepare a delicious meal using the modern appliances in your charming kitchen with a gas range.

We had a great stay at Paula's place. The location could not be beat - could hear the ocean from our open windows! And also walk to neighborhood restaurants, local market, and great coffee. Would I call it "first class accommodations"? Not exactly. Upholstered furniture is a little worn, mattresses & linens were not the most comfortable, at least one bedroom lacked a/c, etc. But it was a really good value for the money, Paula was a communicative and kind host, and I would book again.

Great Location

A spacious house located steps from the beach. The house had everything we needed for our long weekend with our kids and their significant others. Paula was very communicative and professional, we would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful home away from home !

This was my first time ever booking a house for a trip. One daughter was getting married in La Jolla and I thought a house, rather than a hotel would be better for 5 adults and a toddler. This place was perfect! It was clean and comfortable, stocked with all the essentials, and a short walk to the beach. It was perfect for us! Communication with Paula was easy as well.

Quintessential beach cottage on a gorgeous block

This beach cottage was a great place to stay in La Jolla. Beach at the end of the block is amazing, and the cottage had a lot of great beach supplies, which was very helpful. The host is very thoughtful, and the house was comfy. It was the perfect place for our stay.

Our family throughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at this property. The location was great, a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The house was charming, with all the amenities of home. Our kids and grandkids loved it.

Wonderful Time

Wonderful family vacation!

Our first VRBO experience and it was wonderful. The owner was easy to deal with and the house was exactly as described. The location was great - close to the beach and to shopping/restaurants. The home was well stocked with all the essentials. We had 4 kids and 2 adults with room to spare! Will happily rent again!

This house is a great everything

This La Jolla house is nicely located in a quiet neighborhood, a few houses from the ocean, walkable along the ocean at one end to see and hear the sea lions, and for a longer walk, over to the Bird Rock neighborhood. The kitchen is nicely set up, with basics in the cupboard. We have stayed in the house before with our children, and it is very comfortable for a lively multi-generational family.

Absolutely Perfect Stay – Like Coming Home to San DiegoIt was the perfect fit for our family of five, including two adult children. The location is ideal—just steps from the beach and walking distance to coffee shops. Traveling from across the country, it made such a difference to have beach towels, chairs, carts, surfboards, and even a grill with a dedicated gas line ready for us.I grew up in San Diego and hadn’t been back in years, so this trip was very meaningful. I wanted a more local, lived-in experience rather than a touristy one, and this home delivered. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed—dishes, towels, full-size soaps, laundry and cleaning supplies, and even little thoughtful extras like fans and board games.The AC units worked great, but we mostly enjoyed the ocean breeze with the windows open. We especially appreciated the unscented linens, as our family is very sensitive to fragrance. Small details like the lush front lawn and hose for rinsing off after the beach made our stay even more enjoyable.Most of all, Paula was the most responsive, thoughtful host we’ve ever had—always in touch within minutes and truly helpful. We’re already planning our return for next summer. This stay was incredibly special to us. If we could give six stars, we would!

Peaceful stay at the beach

We stayed for 3 nights in April for a family visit, booking at relatively short notice, and after quite a lot of research felt this was the best option: - Super-responsive host & easy check-in with code for doors. - Accurate pictures and representation of the property. - Quiet neighborhood with off-street parking out front. We stayed on weekdays and were able to find a spot every time. We didn't use the dedicated parking space out the back. - Super close to the beach (relatively rough waves / rocky like most of the area). - Plenty of space in the property to spread out in for our family of 4 - Well stocked - including beach stuff which sadly we didn't have a chance to use. - Walking distance to Amenities - (fancy) supermarket and few restaurants at the end of the street; Downtown La Jolla within 20-30 mins. Helpful to have a car. We felt we had a reasonable deal, but pricing seems to vary a lot depending on the dates. If you are visiting in the summer, then the limited private outdoor space (as shown in the listing) might be a factor.

Perfection at the Beach!

We had the best time at this beautiful, perfectly-appointed, super clean, extremely comfortable, spacious, thoughtfully stocked (think beach chairs and beach towels, spices to cook with, sugar for your morning coffee!), ideally located La Jolla residence! It truly is steps from Windandsea Beach (we sad the most beautiful early May afternoon lounging on the wide rocks watching the surfers and getting sun). The sea lions were so fun to go see, and it’s a short ride to Mission and Pacific Beaches, downtown San Diego and Coronado Island, which we also spent time at over our long weekend and enjoyed immensely. We had dinner the first night at Verdes El Rancho upon Paula’s recommendation and we couldn’t have had a better time. We also enjoyed the coffee shop, Rosamond’s, up the street for a yummy peanut butter and chocolate nib and banana toastie and specialty coffee in the morning. The Valley Store up the road (we walked) was perfect for our last night when we wanted to stay in and cook- we got some delicious store made chips and salsa, fresh poke and salad and enjoyed sitting outside on the picnic table in the back of our residence. Everyone is so friendly in the area and it was nice just walking and chatting with neighbors. We have already booked our second stay for the fall as our daughter is sold on going to USD now! Our family had a wonderful week at the beach, getting together in this lovely home. There is plenty space inside for having relaxed dinners, catching up with children and grandchildren. The home has everything needed for a comfortable stay, the toy cupboard was particularly brilliant for the children's imagination. Paula is very responsive and helpful for any needs. Great times!

This home is in a great location, just a short walk up the street to the beach. They offered everything we needed including boogie boards, beach umbrella and chairs, etc. My only major complaint is that the home doesn't have central a/c, they have a window a/c unit in the dining room for the common spaces, and another in the window of the master bedroom. Unfortunately, we went in mid July and both of my boy's bedrooms were very hot with no a/c. We tried everything, including leaving their bedroom doors open and opening their bedroom windows, and using the fans that were provided, but the rooms were still very hot and they routinely woke up sweating. Besides that, we had a wonderful experience and the host was very nice and accommodating.
