Hosted by Neice and her BF & our two guides we brought from the Bitterroot to fish the Missouri for 3 days. Place just keeps getting better and better. We took the whole home and it was perfect for our needs.
We booked this place almost a year in advance for a Montana fly fishing trip. The day before arrival, Justin, the host, sent a message saying the internet was out and would likely be out the entire week. Unfortunately, it never worked once during our entire 5 night stay. There is also essentially zero cell service in the area, so having no internet became a major inconvenience. In a remote fly fishing and sportsman area with very limited dining options, reliable internet matters. What made it even more frustrating was that the gas station across the street and neighboring properties all had working Starlink service the entire time. There was also no BBQ available for most of our stay, which matters when you spend full days fly fishing and plan on cooking your own meals at night. On the final evening, Justin dropped off a very small Weber grill along with a giant bag of charcoal, which by then was far too late to be useful. The property itself is clean, and that is the positive takeaway. Beyond that, everything felt very cheap, from the furniture to the beds and pillows. We started jokingly calling it the “IKEA house.” After full days on the river, it honestly felt like sleeping on rocks. For a fly fishing trip planned this far in advance, the lack of preparation, missing amenities, and poor follow through made this a frustrating and disappointing experience.
