Yes the driveway is steep and only metal but no one with a car has had trouble
Had a lovely summer stay, completely private, great cooking facilities, and amazing sunset views over the harbour. Only potential downside was with the heat and the western orientation. the cabin gets quite warm of the afternoon/early evening. A fan would be useful to circulate the air.

Thanks Catherine for your review. I'd just like to mention that the tiny house is on solar power and we don't want the batteries to get under 40% as this shortens their life. This is why we don't supply devices (TV etc) that can be use power at night when there is no power generation.
There were pro's and cons to staying here which was reflected in the affordable price. The pro's were: good communication and directions, all linen supplied, clean, comfortable bed, close to Whangarei, peaceful and stunning views over the harbour. The cons were: navigating the driveway is not for the faint-hearted and I suggest arriving in daylight so you can see, this is a 1-bedroom cabin, running off solar power/tank water, with an ensuite, small kitchen/lounge area and very basic, no TV, wifi or laundry. The water tank was empty when we arrived and although the host tried to get a tanker out, we were left without water overnight until the following morning. Finding alternative accommodation late Friday night on Waitangi weekend was not a viable option, so we stayed. Although I loved the location, I love my small luxuries in life more and will most likely not book this again.
