We had a wonderful stay at this home while visiting family in Summersville. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and very convenient, making it easy for us to relax and enjoy our time together. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, and the space felt welcoming and well cared for.The host was responsive and easy to communicate with, which made the entire stay smooth and stress free. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the overall comfort of the home. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area for a family trip or a quiet getaway.
We enjoyed our stay at the property and the surrounding areas. The accommodations were very suitable. The place was very clean. The kitchen and living spaces had everything we needed. The host was responsive and very helpful. The firepit was delightful. The hottub looked quite inviting and well maintained although we did not get a chance to use it. We would look into staying at this place whevever we return to the area.
The host was friendly and communication was easy, which I appreciated. However, the home’s photos felt a bit misleading since it looked more polished online than in reality. The house seemed mid-renovation with some unfinished details, like bathroom doors not closing and no dishwasher. Overall, it’s a place with potential but needs some updates to match the listing.
Overall an amazing stay! Had all the “extra” things you could need! (Pots/pans, spices, towels plus extra for the hot tub, washer/dryer). Did not have enough firewood available for the fire pit.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. As promised, it is 5minutes to the lake. The hot tub didn't work but the host reimbursed us for that which was nice. I might suggest a few upgrades. A dishwasher would be nice and also a handrail down to the lower level would be a great addition.

Mouse poop on counters
We were not happy with this property. The doors to bedrooms and bathrooms did not fully close. We woke up to mouse poop on the counters every morning. They had eaten some of our food. The upstairs toilet did not work properly. It would take 20 minutes for the tank to fill in between flushings. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t fully meet expectations. We take all comments seriously and have already addressed some of the issues you mentioned. We've hired a new pest control company and have put in new measures to stop events like this. That bathroom has been remodeled and toilet has been replaced. Others are currently being worked on to ensure a better experience for future guests. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention and wish you all the best in your future travels.
Overall, the stay was fine, but given the price, it didn’t justify the value. The owner was responsive and the property had nice amenities, but the home itself felt less polished than the listing photos suggested.Pros:Owner was quick to respond to questions.Pet-friendly (75 fee for one pet for the stay).Hot tub, deck, and fire pit were enjoyable.Quiet neighborhood.Comfortable beds.Cons:Fit and finish of the home was lacking vs. photos.Renovations appeared rushed/cheap (uneven floors, chipped paint, taped window, old carpet remnants).Bedrooms had little airflow, leading to stale air.Stairs were short and needed a railing.Strong maple syrup-like odor on arrival (faded, source unknown).Living room couch was uncomfortable.Neutral:Parking was close to the roadside with a rock path to the home.Split entryway was tight.Hot tub cooled quickly; unsure if user error or issue with tub.Closing:The stay was fine, but only consider if pricing was lower.
Nice quiet stay with hot tub, fire pit & foosball table.
We had a nice relaxing stay & very happy with bedrooms, beds very comfortable. Deck & yard is lovely. We had difficulty with getting a/c turned off first night downstairs (bedrooms) were cold. The heater upstairs was on 90 when we got there & had trouble getting it turned down. The upstairs shower was clogged. There were lots of dead ladybugs in lower bathroom. Unfortunately the air quality was dry so we couldn’t use the wonderful fire pit. We had hoped the lake was as we saw it 2 years ago when it was much higher & more impressive. Thanks to Tam for being a kind & helpful host.
Pros: great location and private. Close to the lake and marina. Beds were comfy and it was very nice that linens and towels as well as toilet paper/paper towels were provided. Kitchen also came with coffee and creamer and had most items needed but not enough. Overall, the house was clean when we arrived.Cons: house is in need of a lot of work and seems like bare minimum has been put in for the price you’re paying. Floors are very uneven, electrical outlets especially out on the deck are very unsafe with exposed wires and hanging off the house, the window in the living room was completely cracked and taped up with blue tape, fire pit area was completely over grown, kitchen only had 2 cooking pans and no Tupperware to use at all. Bring your own for sure! If you have your own boat do not bring it here. We were told it could accommodate a boat but there is absolutely no way to pull a boat in and out of this property. The road coming in is very narrow and you will not be able to back up or back in a boat. The driveway is also very washed out and has big ruts, four wheel drive is almost necessary.
