About this property

Mountaineer Cabin 6 - Hot Tub & Gas Fireplace close to New River Gorge

Single-story cabin 7 miles from New River Gorge Bridge in a secluded wooded area. This charming 2-bedroom cabin sleeps 6 with two queen bedrooms, a sleeper sofa, & full bathroom. Full kitchen with open living room. Amenities include private hot tub, grill (propane), fireplace, and outdoor fire pit. Front deck has patio swing and rocking chairs. 10-minute drive to Adventures on the Gorge (AOTG), 12 minutes to downtown Fayetteville, & 25 minutes to ACE Adventure Lake.

Our cozy, quaint cabins include two bedrooms with a queen bed and sink with mirror in each room. Living room area has pullout couch and multiple chairs with a 50in smart TV. There is one full bathroom in the unit. We provide towels and linens. Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash is provided. The living room & kitchen area are open with a dining table perfect for groups of 4-6. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and basic cooking utensils. Basic cleaning supplies are provided under the kitchen sink. Each cabin has internet, air conditioning, & parking right beside unit.

Cell phone service in this area may be spotty. We are located in rural West Virginia which has its advantages & disadvantages. Internet is available but can be slow. We are currently working on getting starlink installed in this cabin as of 10/1/25.

This cabin has its own private, gravel driveway and is out of sight from all our other cabins. Please note that this gravel driveway has a moderate incline that some low clearance, 2-wheel drive cars could have issues with during snowstorms. We do plow during the winter and significant snow is fairly rare but worth noting.

We do not have a washer/dryer listed on our amenities, however, we do have a shared washroom with washer/dryer that guests may use when it is not in use by our cleaning staff. This room is used as a staging area by our cleaning staff to service all 6 of our cabins. During the day at least one of the washer/dryer units is typically in use by our cleaning staff, if not both. Both are generally open during the morning & evening. The wash room is located beside cabin 1, has two washers/dryers, and has laundry supplies that the guests may use free of charge. Please note no washers/dryers are in the cabins. The facilities are available as a curtesy to our guests.

Each cabin has its own private hot tub that is enclosed in a room attached to the cabin. We empty, clean, and refill our hot tubs after each stay. For this reason, there is a chance that the hot tub will not be up to full temperature immediately after checking in, especially if a guest checked out that morning. It generally only takes a couple hours at most but may be a little longer during the colder months. Please do not push hot tub buttons attempting to heat it quicker. Hot tubs have many locks (kid, eco etc…). You may lockout or shutdown the heating process by pushing the wrong button.

Cabin 6 has a gas insert in the fireplace. All of the cabins have an outdoor fire pit area with a picnic table. Firewood is not provided but is sold at Walmart, Kroger, Lowe’s and the Exxon station by I19. This cabin has a propane grill on the front porch. Propane is included. Additional propane tanks can be found at our shared washroom area in a closet next to the entry door.

We do allow well-behaved, small-medium sized dogs (60 pounds or less) for a $50.00 additional cleaning fee. No cats. 2 dogs maximum. Guests are expected to dispose of their dogs waste before leaving. All pets must be listed on the reservation when booking and housebroken. Failure to include your pet in the reservation will result in fines.

Our cabins are less than 10 minutes away from the newest National Park! The New River Gorge offers world class whitewater, rock climbing, mountain biking, ziplining, hiking, fishing, bird watching, and more! The gorge provides some of the most beautiful scenery on the east coast. Fayetteville West Virginia, voted top 10 coolest small towns in America, is a short 15 minute drive from the cabins and has lots of great local restaurant options. Our welcome guide includes food and activity recommendations during your stay.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

A lovely secluded cabin in the woods

We were suprised how secluded this cabin felt while still being close to everything you want to see and do at New River. Check in was super easy and the cabin has everything you need to cook meals, relax, and sleep. The beds are comfortable and the hot tub was clean. We did have a mouse visit our kitchen in the night, but given you are surrounded by nature, that is not suprising, just keep your fruit in the fridge.

Nice secluded cabin the woods

Nice secluded cabin in the woods but close the New River Gorge National Park. Cabin is well kept and has pretty much everything you would need. Cabin is pet friendly and has a bit on a grassy area for them. Owners are great host and respond to messages quickly.

Perfect Location!

This place was perfectly located, where you felt properly isolated but within reach of everything. 10 minutes from the Bridge, 20 minutes from Summersville Lake and Hawks Nest and 35 to Grandview. Cabin was clean and well equipped and the hot tub was perfect at night. Hope to be back!

Nice stay

Short couple day. Nice cabin. Only issue was internet. We needed to find places to eat and hiking trails and had to drive down road to get service. Hot tub was nice and surprised to have a fire ring which was nice. Stayed as midway stay from Virginia to home

Traveler

Location of Paul's cabin was perfect. It was close to pretry much everything. There is a grocery store about 5 minuted away which was convenient. We stayed in cabin 6 which I liked over the others because it was the most secluded. The cabin it's self had all we needed. If we travel to the area again i would most definitely book a cabin with Paul.

Very nice place

The place is secluded it is very nice ,exactly as pictured, but there is no washer and dryer inside the cabin but there is one up the hill away from the cabin that is free. which is really nice. Also you must watch your dog if you bring one, because they there is a dog or two that runs around they're friendly but I don't know how they are with other dogs because we wouldn't let them get close enough to our dog. The owner is extremely nice we asked about some chairs and he went to Walmart and actually bought them which I thought was very very considerate of him. The chairs for the fire pit arewother dogs. So that wasn't good.

Good stay

Cabin was very nice and quiet. Hot tub was perfect. One issue is the Wi-Fi. He did say it was slow and unreliable however it’s not slow or unreliable it flat out does not work. We are tech savvy so we tried everything we could but it just wouldn’t connect at all. A small issue. Luckily our cell service worked and the phone could make calls. There was no land line. Also the fireplace was electric not wood. But overall a good place for the price. We probably won’t return as we like to build a fire and the Wi-Fi issue but we still liked it.
