35 acres of private forest in the San Juan Mountains. A space where you can step outside in the morning and hear nothing but birds and wind through the aspens.
This Mountain Modern lodge sits right between Telluride (35 min) and Ouray (30 min), giving you a home base for world-class skiing, hot springs, and plenty of hiking.
Sleeps 8 across four bedrooms with three full bathrooms. The open-plan kitchen is fully stocked for group cooking, and the oversized patio is where most evenings end up.
THE SPACE The main living area has big windows looking out into the forest, an open floor plan, and a fireplace to keep you warm. It's designed to feel like a lodge without trying too hard, clean lines, warm materials, comfortable furniture you'll actually want to sit in.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook real meals. Counter space, a full-size fridge, and proper cookware for feeding a group. There's Wi-Fi throughout, a dedicated workspace if someone needs to check in on work, and a TV for movie nights when you've had enough fresh air for one day.
Outside is where this place really earns it. The 35 acres are heavily wooded. We've had guests spot elk, deer, and the occasional fox right from the window. In summer the canopy keeps things shaded and cool; in fall the aspens put on one of the best color shows in Colorado.
Winter: 35 minutes to Telluride's ski slopes. 30 minutes to Ouray's legendary ice park and hot springs. Roads and driveway are plowed and maintained, but you'll need a 4WD vehicle. Reach out before booking if you have questions about your vehicle.
Summer: Wildflowers, fly fishing on the San Miguel, and Telluride's festival lineup: Bluegrass, Film, Jazz, Blues & Brews. Some of our favorite hiking spots just down the road.
Fall: The secret season. The aspens all around turn gold and the whole place glows. Still great weather to enjoy a nice hike, fly fish in many area rivers, and some of the best hunting in Colorado.

We truly value all reviews as they help us improve, and we want to make sure every guest has a great stay with us.
The host was very welcoming! The house itself was fantastic. The stairs to get into the actual living area are legit. I could see someone with a heart or lung issue having a difficult time going up and down them. But otherwise, no issues and would recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week long visit. The location is out of the way and perfect for relaxing in nature. We drove into Telluride and Ouray and appreciated being able to visit both. The house was the most well stocked vacation home we've ever rented. The beds were all quite comfortable. We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking to stay a little further away from town, to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

Family of 8 adults . Everything exact as describe. My mom who is 88 year old is very happy and comfortable. Clean and have everything you ever need for a family vacation. We had a blast with bbq and homemade family dinner. Location is superb ; everywhere is 30 mins away to ouray and telluride and we live seclude in the mountain. Ty so much. I will definitely come back if I have a chance.
My wife and I are avid travelers and outdoor enthusiasts who fell in love with the beauty of southwestern Colorado after a backpacking trip in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. We built this home as a peaceful retreat to escape the Texas heat in the summer and enjoy skiing in Telluride during the winter. Since we can't be here all year round, we're excited to share our slice of mountain paradise with other adventurers.
Why they chose this property
We were drawn to this area because it offers the best of both worlds—seclusion and easy access to nearby attractions. The stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and proximity to both Ouray and Telluride made it the perfect spot for our getaway. The hiking trails, rivers, and skiing options offer endless opportunities for outdoor activities.
What makes this property unique
Our home blends modern comforts with a rustic mountain vibe, offering an elevated "mountain modern" experience. Nestled among the trees on a 35-acre lot, it feels like a private retreat, yet it's only 30 minutes from both Telluride and Ouray. Whether you're relaxing on the large patio or exploring the nearby trails, this property offers a perfect mix of serenity and adventure.
