About this property
♥ Downtown Cabin Oasis, hot tub, fireplace, AC, WD, walk to town, 5 mins to RMNP
License #3350. If the mountains are calling and you must go, let this historic 100-year-old renewed cabin be your home base for your upcoming Estes Park & RMNP stay. You simply can't beat the location of this charming boutique style rustic cabin. This historic 1920s cabin sits atop a quiet hill above downtown Estes Park in the historic district, where most of the cabins are over 100 years old. The cabin features views of the Stanley, Lumpy Ridge, the majestic Twin Owls, and the aerial tram on Prospect Mountain. This charming rustic cabin has been a favorite vacation rental home for years, and the new owners (hence the new listing) have recently had way too much fun rejuvenating this vintage gem. The cabin’s unique decor is inspired by the spirit, mountains, and the wildlife of the Rocky Mountain region. This vacation rental offers the rare combination of:
• star gazing from the private hot tub
• wildlife & sunrise viewing from the walls of windows and deck
• interior gas fireplace
• AC in the summer months
• full sized well-equipped kitchen
• private parking
• washer & dryer
• a cozy yet spacious 1100 sq ft interior
• within walking distance to festivals, shopping, & restaurants
• 5 min drive to Fall River Rd entrance at RMNP
• tons of nostalgic rocky mountain cabin charm
When you arrive, the large private hot tub (which is professionally serviced between every guest) awaits you on the front patio, perfect for stargazing and for relaxing after a long day of hiking. You enter thru the fully equipped kitchen that’s beckoning to be cooked in. The kitchen opens up into the huge open rustic living room and dining room with exposed wood support beams, antler chandelier, original rock fireplace with modern gas insert, and sliding glass doors to the deck. This great room is the hub of the home and beckons togetherness and quality time. It features walls of windows to take in the views, has tons of board games, and has ample seating for everyone. Just off the living room is the full bathroom (complete with a washer and dryer), and the hallway to 2 beautiful bedrooms. This cozy yet roomy 1100 sq ft single level cabin sleeps up to 6 comfortably. A window AC is present during the warmer summer months, a rarity in mountain towns. And a welcome book in the cabin lists the hosts personal recommendations for hikes, activities, and places to eat.
♥ Your next adventure awaits! If you haven’t already, make sure to save this unique Estes Park cabin to your wish list now by clicking the heart at the top right-hand corner of the listing. ♥♡
As a thank you for booking with us, a detailed digital welcome book filled with our personal recommendations for the best places to eat, activities to do in and around Estes Park, our favorite hikes, tips for timed-entry passes, etc is sent to you the day you book!
Additional Information:
Kitchen & Dining:
The well stocked full-size kitchen will allow you to cook and enjoy many meals from either the dining room or the deck outside. Full sized stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes/silverware, glassware, cooking utensils, coffee and spices all provided. A large vintage dining table provides seating for 6 inside, or there is an outdoor table and 6 chairs on the deck outside.
Living Room:
The large open rustic living room is the heart of the home. A full-size futon can be used for additional sleeping arrangements. A collection of books about Estes Park and RMNP are available to read. There is also a chess table corner and board games and puzzles for hours of fun. The cabin also has wireless internet for those wishing to stay connected. Or, for a night in, log into your personal streaming accounts to watch all your favorite movies and shows on the living room TV. A DVD player, record player, and radio is also available. And on cold winter nights, or to set the stage for a little romance, the original stone fireplace with electric insert will keep you cozy with just a flick of a switch.
Bedrooms:
Both beautifully decorated bedrooms feature comfortable queen beds, furnished with both log and vintage furnishings. Dressers are located in both closets, along with fans, luggage racks, and hangers for your use. All bed linens are professionally laundered off site.
Bathroom:
The adorable full bathroom is decorated in traditional 1920’s finishes and a fly-fishing theme. It features a shower tub combo and a full-size washer and dryer for your use. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, laundry detergent, etc. are all provided.
Rules:
Check in is 4pm or later
Check out is 10am or earlier
Be respectful, no early check-in or late check-outs, and unfortunately no pets, no smoking, and no parties
Guests are asked to please start a load of towels, to load and start the dishwasher, and to the trash out upon check out.
Please note, there are several surrounding cabins nearby in the area, including a shared driveway with our long-term tenant at the "cathedral cabin", so if you’re looking to be secluded in the woods this might not be the one. However, its proximity to town and its peaceful and quiet setting still feels private enough for you to relax and enjoy your time both inside and out
The cabin is generally accessible in all seasons. The short driveway to the cabin is paved although there is a slight hill getting up to it which can get icy at times. Like most mountain towns, driving a 4x4 or an all-wheel drive vehicle in the snowy months (Oct-May) is recommended. The driveway and entrance to the home is all on one level. There is only a small step from the gravel driveway to the cement patio, and another small step up to get into the cabin. The outdoor staircase seen in the pictures is to access the unfinished basement and side street. The living space is all on one level.
This location can’t be beat. To get to the nearby restaurants, shopping, river-walk, and festivals at Bond Park, simply drive or walk (to avoid traffic and finding and paying for parking) down the hill to town.
**Not many rental cabins can offer the rare combination of rocky mountain charm with a hot tub, fireplace, washer/dryer, AC, and proximity to both town and Rocky Mountain National Park. This rental is perfect for couples, friends, and families alike. **
This is not just another boring vanilla rental. This is our personal vacation cabin and our only rental for our locally owned family business. As such, every detail has been carefully thought out and the cabin has been lovingly decorated to give you an incredible Estes Park/RMNP cabin experience. We want you to make wonderful memories here with your friends and loved ones. We know you have many options, and we thank you for considering our vintage cabin for your stay. Your next adventure awaits at this historic downtown cabin! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

About the host
Hosted by Heather Grim

We hope you love Estes Park as much as we do! My husband and I enjoy traveling the world and hiking in RMNP every chance we get. It's always been our dream to own our own cabin, and now we get to share that dream in our favorite town with you. We've put our heart and soul into this cabin. We look forward to hosting you!
Why they chose this property
The cabin sits in the heart of Estes between downtown & the Stanley, with a 5-minute walk to both or a 5-minute drive to the Fall River Rd entrance at Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin sits hillside in the historic district, just above downtown Estes, in a quiet residential area.
What makes this property unique
We revamped this vintage gem with the mountains and wildlife of the region in mind. We wanted it to have all the nostalgic cabin feels. Watch neighborhood wildlife from the walls of windows in the living room or outside on the patio. Relax in the large private hot tub. The cabin is close enough to town to be convenient, yet it sits in such a quiet area. This isn’t your normal boring rental. Every detail has been carefully thought out in this charming 100 year old retreat. Memories are just waiting to be made here.
