About this property

♥ Downtown Cabin Oasis, hot tub, fireplace, AC, WD, walk to town, 5 mins to RMNP

License #3350. This cabin's central location and boutique charm can't be beat! The historic 1920s cabin sits atop a quiet hill above downtown Estes Park in the historic district, where most of the cabins are over 100 years old. The cabin features views of the Stanley, Lumpy Ridge, the majestic Twin Owls, and Prospect Mountain. This charming rustic cabin has been a favorite vacation rental home for years, and the new owners have recently had way too much fun rejuvenating this vintage gem. The cabin’s unique decor is inspired by the spirit, mountains, and the wildlife of the Rocky Mountain region. This unique vacation rental offers the rare combination of:

• Star gazing from the private hot tub
• Wildlife viewing from the walls of windows & deck
• Soothing interior gas fireplace
• AC in the summer months
• Full sized well-equipped kitchen
• Private parking
• Onsite washer & dryer
• Free WiFi
• Homey yet spacious 1100 sq ft interior
• Walking distance to festival/shopping/restaurants
• 5 min drive to Fall River Rd entrance at RMNP
• Tons of nostalgic rocky mountain cabin charm
• Decorated for all seasons, perfect for holidays
• Relaxing outdoor seasonal stream water feature
• Comes with a travel guide to help you plan your trip
• Is run by a friendly local owner/host

When you arrive, the large private hot tub (which is professionally serviced between every guest) awaits you on the front patio, perfect for stargazing and for relaxing after a long day of hiking. You enter thru the fully equipped kitchen that’s just waiting to be cooked in. The kitchen opens up into the huge open rustic living room and dining room with exposed wood support beams, antler chandelier, original rock fireplace with modern gas insert, and sliding glass doors to the deck. This great room is the hub of the home and beckons togetherness and quality time. It features walls of windows to take in the views, has tons of board games & movies, and has ample comfortable seating for everyone. Just off the living room is the full bathroom (complete with a washer and dryer) and the hallway to 2 beautiful bedrooms with queen memory foam mattresses. This cozy yet roomy 1100 sq ft single level cabin sleeps up to 6 comfortably. A comfortable futon in the great room can be used for additional sleeping arrangements. Window AC's are present during the warmer summer months, a rarity in mountain towns. A recently added stream water feature flows during the summer months just alongside the deck to add even more relaxation to your stay. And a detailed welcome book in the cabin lists the hosts personal recommendations and tips for the best local hikes, activities, and places to eat. The cabin is perfect for friends, families, and couples alike. If you can imagine yourself watching fireworks from the deck, reading a book outside as local mule deer herd or elk come through the yard, sitting in the hot tub while it snows, or celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or even Christmas with your loved ones here, this cabin is perfect for you!

Additional Information (for those that like details):

Kitchen & Dining:
The well stocked full-size kitchen will allow you to cook and enjoy many meals from either the dining room or the deck outside. Full sized stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, drip coffee maker and coffee bar, toaster, pots and pans, dishes/silverware, glassware, cooking utensils, starter coffee and spices all provided. A large vintage dining table provides seating for 6 inside, or most guests prefer to have their meals to take in the views at the outdoor table on the deck outside.

Living Room:
The large open rustic living room is the heart of the home. The windows allow in the most incredible light and views, although curtains are provided for privacy. A comfortable full-size futon can be used for additional sleeping arrangements. A collection of books about Estes Park and RMNP are available to read. There are also a chess table, board games, and puzzles for hours of fun. The cabin also has wireless internet for those wishing to stay connected. Or, for a night in, log into your personal streaming accounts to watch all your favorite movies and shows on the living room TV. A DVD player, DVDs, record player, and radio are also available. And on cold winter nights, or to set the stage for a little romance, the original stone fireplace with electric insert will keep you cozy with just a flick of a switch. The fireplace gives off the most soothing heat and ambiance.

Bedrooms:
Both beautifully decorated bedrooms feature comfortable queen beds with memory foam-type mattresses and are furnished with both log and vintage furnishings and black-out curtains. Dressers are located in both closets, along with fans, luggage racks, and hangers for your use. All bed linens are professionally laundered off site.

Bathroom:
The adorable full bathroom is decorated in traditional 1920’s finishes and a fly-fishing theme. It features a shower tub combo and a full-size washer and dryer for your use. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, laundry detergent, etc. are all provided.

Please note, there are several surrounding cabins nearby in the area, including a shared driveway with our long-term tenant at the "cathedral cabin", so if you’re looking to be secluded in the woods this might not be the one. However, its proximity to town and its peaceful and quiet setting still feels private enough for you to relax and enjoy your time both inside and out.

Accessibility: The cabin is generally accessible in all seasons. The short driveway to the cabin is paved although there is a slight hill getting up to it which can get icy at times. Like most mountain towns, driving a 4x4 or an all-wheel drive vehicle in the snowy months (Oct-May) is generally recommended. The driveway and entrance to the home is all on one level. There is only a small step from the gravel driveway to the cement patio, and another small step up to get into the cabin. The outdoor staircase seen in the pictures is to access the side street and the unfinished basement. The living space is all on one level.

This location simply can’t be beat. To get to the nearby restaurants, shopping, river-walk, and festivals at Bond Park, simply drive or walk (to avoid traffic and finding and paying for parking) down the hill to town.

**Not many rental cabins can offer the rare combination of rocky mountain charm with a hot tub, fireplace, washer/dryer, AC, and proximity to both town and Rocky Mountain National Park. This rental is perfect year-round for couples, friends, and families alike. **

We hope you love Estes Park as much as we do! My husband and I enjoy traveling the world and hiking in RMNP every chance we get. It's always been our dream to own our own cabin, and now we get to share that dream in our favorite town with you. We've put our heart and soul into this cabin. We look forward to hosting you!

Why they chose this property

The cabin sits in the heart of Estes between downtown & the Stanley, with a 5-minute walk to both or a 5-minute drive to the Fall River Rd entrance at Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin sits hillside in the historic district, just above downtown Estes, in a quiet residential area.

What makes this property unique

We revamped this vintage gem with the mountains and wildlife of the region in mind. We wanted it to have all the nostalgic cabin feels. Watch neighborhood wildlife from the walls of windows in the living room or outside on the patio. Relax in the large private hot tub. The cabin is close enough to town to be convenient, yet it sits in such a quiet area. This isn’t your normal boring rental. Every detail has been carefully thought out in this charming 100 year old retreat. Memories are just waiting to be made here.
