During a very busy graduation and very congested Boone, this was a fabulous get away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The views were spectacular and Sheila was very informative and was a super host. Thanks for sharing your lovely place!
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lucky Dog Cabin to celebrate Christmas. Sheila was a great host, who responded quickly, and gave great recommendations for our family with littles. The downstairs room was a fun area for the kids. She had everything we needed there. We will definitely stay again
Our family of 4 + our dog stayed at Sheila's cabin and had a great time. The view from the deck is phenomenal, the beds were very comfortable and the kids loved all the toys and games available at the cabin. The cabin has a cozy mountain cabin vibe, and everything was sparkling clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Sheila was incredibly responsive and reached out proactively with detailed directions and suggestions before check-in.
The location is a bit remote, so it isn't the most convenient in terms of making quick trips to restaurants and stores, but our family was happy to cook and eat in most nights.
We had a wonderful time and wish we could’ve extended our stay. It was nice and cozy, just as described. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and plenty of space for our group of 7 and the dog.
We celebrated 5 November birthdays in our group. The weather could not have been more perfect! We enjoyed dinner outside on the open porch then the fire downstairs on the enclosed porch later in the evening.
My only suggestion would be additional lighting in the kitchen. It was a bit hard to see while cooking.
Overall it was a great experience!
My family enjoyed our stay in this area, dogs enjoyed the deck, walk around the lake and down to the campground, once we drove through the creek to the immediate right there was a nice trail that took you to a waterfall. My grandson learned to play fussball wanted Nana every morning to go play the “big game” (Pac-Man), I would recommend Old Barn Winery, Ashe County Cheese, Alpine Coaster and Tweetsie Railroad was a big hit. It rained the last day we were there which was perfect to use the fireplace. I would have like to have gotten the tv and dvd to work downstairs, but overall we had fun and enjoyed much needed family time. Sheila was responsive and was very informative, thanks again!
