Everything about this cabin was perfect. The host was friendly and accessible. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. You can and feel all the thought and efforts put into this cabin to ensure guest enjoy their stay. We will definitely come back.
Diane was an excellent host and we enjoyed our stay in this cozy, well-appointed cabin despite a weekend full of rain that cancelled our outdoor plans in the area. We enjoyed the well-stocked coffee bar, carefully selected books found around the cabin, the fireplace (instead of the fire pit), the sound of rain on the tin roof, and the rockers on our covered porch. Beautiful mountain setting even with fog and rain. Definitely want AWD or 4WD for easier time of road and driveway.
The cabin was so charming!! Just as described in listing. Close to everything. Hot tub perfect for 2 people. Host was very responsive. Will be visiting again.
Such a cute cabin! We came for a hiking trip and this cabin completed our mountain escape. The outdoor string lights were inviting on approach, the coffee/tea bar was stocked and even a smores kit awaited. We loved the gas fireplace and cozy blankets and couches for the cool nights, and the bathrooms/appliances were nicely updated for a cabin home. Two deer enjoyed their breakfast outside the kitchen windows as we enjoyed our morning coffee. The hot tub was perfect for after hiking. This cabin is the perfect combination of mountain cabin vibe with updated, well cared for amenities. Value was perfect! Very close to Boone downtown and Blowing Rock Main Street. Highly recommend and will stay again.
Tucked away on a quiet road, was very cozy and beautiful. Had all the basic amenities stocked for a comfortable stay. Even got greeted by a local friendly sweet pup during our stay!
Diane was great! She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We left something behind and she made sure it got back to us! That’s above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating great hosting skills!
We had a wonderful family weekend at the cabin! Every want was anticipated, even down to a dedicated pet waste station in the fenced yard. The kitchen was well equipped and nicely laid out. We look forward to coming back when the weather dries out a bit to take advantage of the fire pit and hot tub.
Cute cabin with great attention to detail. Smores, hot chocolate and kids toys/easel were a great hit with our family. It had all the space and kitchen items we needed.
Came up for a weekend of skiing in Boone and enjoyed this house! Great dining/living area to hang out in. Just wish we could have stayed a little longer!
This is a great place to stay, it has everything you need and lots of room in the living and kitchen areas! The apartment downstairs was great for our oldest and my twins loved the loft! The hot tub works well and was nice after skiing! We would totally love to stay here again!
The house is adorable with everything needed for your stay. The owner is very attentive and 100% aims to make your stay perfect. We stayed for 16 days and the stay was perfect.
Was clean and had everything we needed. The only down fall was the drive way.

About the host
Hosted by Diane Kradel
We are a woman owned, family run business, Kradel's Kabins LLC, located in Mooresville, NC just north of Charlotte. My son William, and my daughter Heather, work along with me to provide cozy vacation rentals in Boone, NC. Moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2009 from Pennsylvania it didn't take long to realize how close we were to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We purchased our first cabin, Laurelwood, in Boone in the fall of 2016 and we enjoyed hosting so much that we have since purchased two additional cabins, Fernwood in the summer of 2017, and Tanglewood in the fall of 2017. Currently we have a tiny home under construction that we anticipate will be ready for guests by fall of 2024! We hope to enrich the vacation experience of anyone visiting Boone by making their stay in Laurelwood, Fernwood, or Tanglewood (and soon Wildwood) a memorable one.
Why they chose this property
The first cabin property, Laurelwood, was such a hit, first with ourselves, then friends and family, and finally with guests, that we searched for a second property. We found Fernwood in nearby Deep Gap and became intrigued with the history and musical story behind Doc Watson and Merlefest as well as the close proximity and easy access to both Boone and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We figured we found yet another property worth sharing with our guests. Some months later we searched again. This time we hit upon Tanglewood. It's a different type of cabin. More rustic and simple than the first two. And more projects! However completion of these projects will make yet another fun place for our guests to visit and relax on their vacations.
What makes this property unique
Our goal is for your stay at Tanglewood to both relax and refresh you. With a cozy fireplace and plenty outdoor areas to enjoy the natural beauty you may not want to leave. Unlike our other two cabins the charm of Tanglewood is in its lack of refinement. The rough texture of the natural log cabin walls, the woodsy setting and that rough gravel driveway! Read a book, take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, take a hike at Grandfather Mountain or explore Boone. Your vacation stay at Tanglewood is whatever you would like it to be.
