Coastal cabin with beautiful expansive view over the marsh. 30 5-Star Reviews!
Immediately greeted with an expansive view over the estuary marshland, life slows down when you step into this airy cottage home. It is the perfect rustic coastal mix. Only five minutes to a boat ramp, and minutes to the Sapelo Island Ferry, Darien, Butler Island and Shellman Bluff, the Marsh House makes it easy to enjoy all the recreation and history this area has to offer.
Choose the Captain’s Room or the Skipper’s Room- each decorated in an eclectic and comfortable style reflecting life lived close to the sea. Plenty of privacy with each having its own adjoining spacious bathroom. Roomy step-in tile showers.
From the kitchen and living area, glass sliding doors let in natural light and provide a stunning view opening onto a large inviting screened-in porch. Enjoy morning coffee and evening socializing in the rocking chairs watching marsh herons and other sea birds fly over driftwood in the sea grasses. This home was designed and built by the owners which gives the personal touch of being in a special place.
When not enjoying one of the many local fresh seafood restaurants, the galley type kitchen has everything you need including seafood feasting utensils. There is also plenty of outdoor cooking space for your daily catch.
Beyond the screened-in porch is a deck which boasts a gas fire pit that makes an instant and attractive evening campfire gathering spot. Or forego the fire and watch the stars as they can only be seen over the marshes and water. The distant twinkly lights of Pelican Point and Shellman Bluff add a little magic to the night view.
Bring your boat! The Marsh House has a large back yard for easy turn around and several conveniently placed water hoses for rinsing your boat. There is an outdoor area for cleaning fish that can be stored in the outdoor chest freezer. Just five minutes to the Bellville public boat ramp. Can kayak from the boat ramp as well.
Experience all of the Golden Isles from this home base with day trips to the beaches of St. Simons, Jekyll Island or Tybee. (45-60 minutes)
There is an abundance of delicious eatteries of all kinds with just a few minutes drive. Buy fresh shrimp, crab and other seafood - almost the minute it comes off the boat - only a mile up the road.

About the host
Hosted by Blaine Lower
We live in middle Georgia, and spend as much time as we can on the Georgia coast. Memories of childhood summers spent throwing a cast net, pulling in crab traps, eatting freshly caught seafood cooked by grandparents right on the dock made us want to put down our own roots in this area and share it with others. We love being bnb hosts and knowing we helped make someones stay a lovely memory!
Why they chose this property
A hidden gem we discovered when visiting friends on the street. A quiet, peaceful neighborhood with the mossy live oaks and palms that surround you with coastal vibes. The road is simply a U that doesn't go anywhere but back to itself so there is no busy through traffic.
What makes this property unique
The perfect mix of "close yet far away" - we are so close to the interstate and the main highway which makes it quick and easy to get to attractions (and an easy spot for a travel layover), but our large lot with expansive marsh view feels private and vacational far from crowds or traffic.
Our personal blend of "rustic coastal" creates a unique vacational feel while also feeling like you are at friends house. The house is equally welcoming for one person making a travel lay-over or for two couples to vacation together with each having their own private space.
