Lake Whatcom Summer home, 100' private beach, paddle boards and kayaks!
Spacious lake front property on one of western Washington's most beautiful lakes. Situated on 1/2 acre of woodland with its own 100 ft private lake front, separated by Northshore Rd. Our cottage has all the amenities you could ask for to have the perfect time away from the busy lives we all lead. The set-up is adaptable for a family with children or couples who are looking for a break by the lake. There is generous living indoors and out, with inside dining for 8, and an additional 6-8 person dining table out on the deck overlooking the lake. There is plenty of dinnerware for both. The kitchen is fully equipped, with the addition of the ubiquitous barbecue grill outside, and if needed a propane patio heater. The lounge includes generous seating for watching movies on the wall mounted, flat panel TV. that has Xfinity WiFi stick and Netflix & Prime and many other streaming apps, or chose from our wide selection of DVD or VHS tapes! Or if you prefer, listen to music from MP3 docking station or Bluetooth enabled soundbar. Save the fridge for food, there is a separate wine fridge. Relax on either the large deck overlooking the lake or in the lounge on one of the comfortable sofas or chairs. The main floor also has the master bedroom (king-size bed), with the main bathroom; the remaining 3 bedrooms and 2nd full bathroom are on the lower level. There is a queen size bed, one twin over full bunk bed and two twin beds, with a second flat panel TV & Amazon Fire-stick and DVD/VCR in the larger twin to save arguing with the children! At the beach there are lawn chairs, picnic table and loungers at your disposal and another fridge in the beach hut for the perfect way to while away the hours lakeside. Make full use of the two adult, two children size kayaks, and two 10' paddle boards, or just relax and sunbathe to your heart's content. Large selection of life vests provided. There is a stone fire pit and we do our best to replenish the wood pile behind the beach hut, however, since there is no cover on the wood and this is the Pacific North West it is open to the elements so may be damp in the spring and fall. Use those scout skills to start your fire so you can finish off your perfect day making s'mores with your favourite tipple.
If winter sports are more your bag then use the cabin as a base and drive the 60-75 minutes to Mount Baker, ski or ride all day then come back to dinner at the lake and sit around the fire at the lake re-enacting the day's adventures and near misses! Awake relaxed and ready for another day on the slopes.

About the host
Hosted by Janice Hunt
My husband I met in England when I was a flight attendant for Canada 3000 and married soon afterwards. We lived in the UK for 3 years and have now settled back in Vancouver, BC with our daughter and son. We love travelling and prefer to stay in rental homes which is why we have decided to share our lakeside home with you.
Why they chose this property
Built by my father in the 70s, my husband and I have spent the last few summers completely modernising it to what you see today. I spent my summers here growing up, and now that we have a children of our own, we use the place as our lakeside getaway from the noise and lights of Vancouver.
What makes this property unique
Our favourite thing to do is to end the day with a glass of wine and friends on the deck or down by the beach, watching the sun set over the lake.
