My son and I visit Sewanee University and stayed overnight. We loved the stay. The house was cozy and comfortable. It was freezing the night we stayed or we would've enjoyed the firepit...so quiet and peaceful there. The kitchen was well equipped with the necessities needed. I honestly hope my son chooses Sewanee for college so that I can take 2 day mini vacation in this tiny home community when I come to visit him.
This compact house sits on a beautiful lot next to the woods. Several lovely hiking trails surround the gated community, which is quiet. The only reason I gave this property a three for family-friendly is that the home has a loft with a ladder. It is perfectly fine for kids over about 5/6 but I would be nervous if I had toddlers. All in all, the house was very comfortable—clean with well-equipped kitchen and very nice outdoor space (beautiful deck and fire pit). I would book this property again.
This place is adorable… also you can’t see from the pics but has a gas grill and is so cozy! Love this spot and the hosts! Thank you for being so accommodating and sweet!
We enjoyed the stay but the place had a smell like it needed to be aired out so we went to the store and get air fresheners. I was not impressed with the soap, shampoo, conditioner & the living room rug was very stained but everything else was fantastic. The outdoor area was our favorite however there are so many dead trees that need to be taken down. The Deer Lick trail was challenging but was so beautiful.
Everything was as advertised. Only rating it 4 stars due to the overwhelmingly strong mildew smell in the house. We had all windows open to air it out and even gotten some small candles, but it did not get rid of the smell. The rug in the living room did have a few stains and should probably be replaced. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. We loved the outdoor area. The firepit was well stocked with firewood, and even had a picnic table to eat outside.
We absolutely loved our stay at this Tiny Home in Monteagle! The house is beautifully maintained, with comfy beds, fluffy white towels, a coffee maker & Keurig, icemaker in the fridge, and laundry facilities. The big deck was a highlight, with a nice gas grill, cozy outdoor seating, and festive lighting. The Stonefire pit was wonderful too - and they provide the firewood. Early spring brought plenty of sunshine and no flies or mosquitoes, making our time on the property even more relaxing. We also appreciated the proximity to Fiery Gizzard State Park, Savage Gulf State Park, and the Old Stone Fort Archaeological Area - which have beautiful hikes and waterfalls. And the private waterfall on the property is absolutely astounding and on par with the hikes and falls in the state parks.Inside, the big screen TV, gas fireplace, and high-speed Wi-Fi made it just as comfortable as it was beautiful. The gated, tiny home community it is in is charming and well-kept, and the price was perfect for a spring break getaway.Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, from the always-hot showers to cozy spaces to unwind. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and highly recommend this Tiny Home! p.s. we never went out to dinner and preferred to make dinner in the house and enjoy the deck and outdoor space - like heaven!
We booked for “Mom’s Weekend” in Sewanee. This was not the property we stayed at because it was double booked. The company offered us a different property and we had to accept. The property was clean. We will probably give that company another chance in hopes that the communication between Vrbo and the owners of the properties is better.
The location was nice with walking trails. The tiny home had a very musty smell. The rug in the living area was dirty and there was a large amount of dust in the heater vents. We had trouble figuring out the remotes for the heating units but maintenance came pretty quickly to help figure it out. A visitor manual would have been helpful to navigate the residence as well as the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Also, when we took the garbage out, there were candy wrappers and other garbage left from a prior visit in the bottom of the pale.
