A Quick Note from Our Local Roommates...
We absolutely love our secluded slice of forest heaven, and we think you will too! Because we are nestled deep in the woods, please keep in mind that you’ll be sharing the great outdoors with some of the original locals.
From busy spiders spinning their morning masterpieces to the occasional hitchhiking tick looking for a free ride, Mother Nature’s creatures are a package deal out here.
To keep your stay cozy:
• Pack your favorite bug spray.
• Do a quick "tick check" after your hikes.
• Keep screen doors shut tight so the party stays outside.
If you're down to trade city noises for whispering pines (and a few extra legs), you’re going to love it here!

Gil was an excellent host! The house is exactly as described with plenty of room for 5 adults and 7 kids. The property was absolutely beautiful! My daughter won our fishing contest with a big bass. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Gil was overly accommodating and communicative. He reached out several days before to confirm our arrival and the number of beds needed to be made up. We arrived to an impeccably cleaned house that was tastefully decorated. Should our travels take us back to this region, I will definitely be looking to book this cozy lake side retreat again.

Very nice location the size of the house was just as described the dock and deck were a great size the family loved it. A lot of swimming was done over our long weekend The house was clean and family friendly just if you have small kids the stairs inside the house would be a little bit of an issue but my youngest was 8 so we had no issues with the stairs. plenty of room for eating, sleeping and game night my only issues were the whole house is not air conditioned just the bedrooms it was fine when we were there but it never got above 80 and the second thing was spiders there was a thousand of them. all of us got bitten so we left scratching but if I needed a large space again I would rent it again I would just bring some bug spray and maybe add a second trash can

Thank you for choosing Camp Brindley for your family getaway and for taking the time to share your feedback! I’m so glad to hear that your family enjoyed the dock, the deck, and family game nights—those are some of our favorite things about the house, too. I truly appreciate you mentioning the stairs, as that is helpful context for future guests with younger children. I also appreciate the honest feedback regarding the air conditioning and the spiders. I am sorry to hear that the pests impacted your comfort during your stay. We strive to keep the home well-maintained, and have engaged professional pest control to address the issue immediately. Additionally, upon your suggestion, I have added a second trash can to make the things smoother for our guests. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us make Camp Brindley even better. We would love to host your family again, and I’ll be sure to have those improvements in place for your next visit! Best, Gil

Our family created so many wonderful memories during our stay at this Indian Lake home. Our group included 6 adults and 9 children ranging from 3 months to 13 years old, and the house accommodated everyone comfortably. There was truly something for everyone to enjoy. We spent our days kayaking on the lake, fishing from the dock, exploring nearby hiking trails, and taking in the beautiful Adirondack scenery. In the evenings, we gathered around the campfire to make memories and enjoyed cozy movie nights together. The home was clean, spacious, and well-equipped for a large family gathering. We especially appreciated having plenty of room for both the adults and kids to spread out and relax. The lakefront setting is peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect place to unplug and spend quality time together. The host was wonderful to work with, and everything was exactly as described. Our entire family had a fantastic time, and we would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable Adirondack getaway. We hope to return again in the future!

Absolutely fantastic location. Let's be honest, this is the reason you go to the Adirondacks. You go for the wilderness you go for the camaraderie. You go for a location just as this. Personal waterfront with plenty of toys. Decent fishing. Great views.Gil was an absolute pleasure to work with. You can tell he cares about the property, the business, and the experience of his customers. New or experienced to the Adirondacks. This is a great experience regardless. I've been to the Adirondacks quite a bit and although this isn't really in the high peaks region, it's great for all the lakes, the smaller, more pleasurable leisure hikes in addition to the great waterways. Stewart's AKA the best ice cream on Earth is right down the road. Gil was gracious enough to organize additional wood delivery as we had a fire going the majority of our stay. It's a great place to just sit, watch and listen. Many loons, red squirrels, I even saw a pair of bald eagles. Overall Good vibes. Would recommend.

About the host

This wonderful lakefront home has been a family retreat for nearly 30 years. We have enjoyed the home in all four seasons, each one presenting it's own unique beauty and tranquility. We want to share our home with others who need a place to escape and make some unforgettable memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.

Why they chose this property

This is the least populated county in all of New York State so this place is quiet and removed from all the hustle and bustle, yet it's 20 minutes from Gore Mountain Ski Center and in the heart of the lower Adirondacks, a place full of hiking, fishing, canoeing and exploring opportunities.

What makes this property unique

Water on three sides of the property make for a unique private retreat setting. Views of the lake and surrounding hills and mountains are stunning. Wildlife is abundant including deer, bear, bald eagles, osprey, loons, ducks, coyote, fox and mink. The home is set up with tons to do right on property - kayaking, canoeing, paddle boards, fishing, sledding, snowshoeing, and lake swimming just to name a few.
