About this property

A Vineyard experience in the Wine Country.

Come stay with us at Steelhead Creek Vineyards at our "Tuscan" Villa.

Large indoor dinning room for 8+. Outdoor kitchen, dinning and sitting area for 8+.

Very private and with breath taking views from 1400' above the valley floor. Hike the various trails, walk through the woods on the property or hike up one of the mountain hillsides on 200+ private acres.

Experience breathtaking vistas at 1400 feet. Have a picnic on the observation deck overlooking the valley and watch the sun set or have a relaxed dinner on the barn patio with outdoor kitchen.

Gather at the villa with family or friends, where the inside and the outside spaces accommodate up to 8 guests. Bring jackets for cool, or even chilly, evenings all summer long. Enjoy easy access to scenic local towns and wineries in Sonoma County and the Napa Valley.

We are in the heart of Sonoma county, in the Fountaingrove AVA. We are close to Calistoga and St Helena in Napa, and are both wonderful places to spend an afternoon shopping, dining and soaking up local culture. The town of Sonoma is 18 miles away with a delightful square and equally fantastic restaurants, shops and people watching opportunities. Other destinations for lunch and an afternoon include Healdsburg, Petaluma, Sebastopol, and the Sonoma Coast. The drive is beautiful, among the most picturesque sceneries in the California wine country. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to make a full loop from the property through Calistoga, St Helena, Napa and back through Sonoma. It's a full day's drive with time for lunch and visits to wineries along the way.

We are in the Fountaingrove District AVA and our vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon. While we primarily sell our grapes to wineries and winemakers, we do make our own wine, and you'll find complimentary wine in your villa,

Your hosts,
Thai and Cynthia

Incredible Property--Highly Recommend!!!

We had a group of five couples stay in Thai and Cynthia's home. The property is stunning. The house is beautiful. The pictures do not do justice to the back patio. We ate all of our breakfasts and dinner out there, and loved the fire pit. We were a little nervous given the previous reviews regarding the roads to get to the house, however, we didn't find them to be an issue as long as you allow for the travel time. We went up to the observation deck on our last evening for a beautiful sunset. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore the property. Thanks for a great stay!

A quiet nature filled get away

Our family thoroughly enjoy our week stay at the Steelhead Creek Vineyard The home and casitas provided just the right space for us and the nature and peaceful atmosphere was perfect. We ventured out daily and returned to comfort and family time. The home has all the amenities needed and we opted to eat in most evenings- the drive in from the main road can be a little scary at night. Thank you for an awesome family vacation.

Amazing Weekend Getaway

Our group has an absolutely wonderful stay at the villa. It was everything we imagined it would be. The main house, the guest cottages, the vineyards, and the pathways through the woods and around the property were all absolutely amazing! Thank you Thai and Cynthia!

Steelhead Creek Stay

We had twelve people in our group and the property was utterly perfect to provide everyone with sufficient space and a calm relaxing environment to enjoy an amazing weekend. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the remoteness enhanced the inherent peacefulness. The house was absolutely beautiful and afforded a fantastic environment with fireplaces throughout and just an extremely comfortable environment on all fronts. Can't recommend it enough! Thanks Thai!

Heaven on Earth. Seriously.

If you've ever had a dream of living on a vineyard, Steelhead Creek is straight out of central casting. It's everything you could ever create in your wildest wine country fantasy. We reserved Thai and Cynthia's stunning property for a 50th birthday celebration. It looked great in the VRBO listing and could accommodate our large group of women comfortably. But, the photos and video truly don't do justice to the actual property. The grounds are breathtaking. Lavender lining the winding driveway, killer views of the valley below, gorgeous landscaping, a barn, grapes...Pinch myself. Photos of the house don't come close to capturing the specific details - the tall ceilings, beautiful design, gorgeous floors, scale of the rooms. Both the living room and kitchen easily accommodate a large gathering of friends or family. The beds are very comfortable and have the best sheets, ever. The two guest houses on the property are well-equipped and lovely. Cynthia and Thai dropped off a birthday cake and flowers for our group, a very lovely gesture, and otherwise kept to themselves. On Thai's suggestion, we contacted their neighbor Chuck, owner of Volante Vineyards, for a wine tasting. He was a character and very patient with our large group. His wine was fantastic and reasonably priced. It was an ideal, casual way to spend our first evening. We spent Friday and Saturday in the hands of Woody with Woody's Wine Tours. He was, hands down, the highlight of a near-perfect weekend. An important note: The house is remote, which is part of the charm. It was a bit difficult to find at first. When Thai and Cynthia advise you to arrive before it gets dark, listen to them. The drive is windy and there are steep cliffs. Also, follow their directions and NOT the directions provided by most GPS apps. We recommend stopping at the Safeway for food/supplies because you won't want to leave the house once you get there. The earlier reviewer who complained about lack of saran wrap, etc., was being especially picky. The house is well-stocked with things you will need like dishes, toilet paper, soap, etc. .If running out of saran wrap will ruin your stay, buy it beforehand. (In fact, if this is something that bothers you, you might want to take up yoga.) Our entire group- all seasoned travelers - was blown away by Steelhead Creek Vineyards. We loved our stay here and can't recommend it highly enough.

Great retreat!

This was a great property to gather friends for a 40th birthday celebration. We felt very spoiled and enjoyed the restful feeling of the property and looking down on the clouds! It is somewhat remote, but we enjoyed the balance of being able to access Sonoma and Napa valleys and wineries during the day and then retreat to the property for dinners. Thai was a very attentive and helpful host.

Absolutely magical experience for a large group

An incredible experience. We took our executive team for a retreat and chose this because of the two additional guest houses which would provide our team with more space. We had 11 people—this property could house 12 comfortably. We arrived in the dark, which was dicey because of the long windey road but this was worth every bit of travel. We woke in the morning to the most beautiful vineyard, trees, landscape (roses) and outdoor meeting space with firepit. The house is based on natural materials—rough-hewn floors, distressed wood, luxury with a rustic flare. Plenty of space to meet, eat, and retreat. We hired Lee Ann Geneve with the Gilded Grape to cater dinners and breakfasts—the best choice given the 30 to 50 minute drive to good restaurants. We brought wine in. This was excellent food—beyond what we could have ordered anywhere else. Thai and his wife, the property contacts, were very proactive in making sure we were cared for—communication was beyond my expectations. They left an excellent Steelhead Creek Vineyards Malbec for us. Two things to be mindful about—two bedrooms are linked by an adjoining door so you don’t want snorers in those close quarters, and pulling out of the long drive onto Calistoga is VERY dangerous. Don’t trust the corner to the left. This property receives our highest rating. I️ wouldn’t change a thing.

Great owners, nice house

We really enjoyed our stay here. While we found a few of the amenities to be lacking (queen beds where there should have been kings for comfort, kitchen missing cookie sheets, olive oil, Saran Wrap, etc., notations on master shower faucet incorrect, etc.), the owners were very responsive when the A-C wasn't working over a hot weekend, the house was very clean and super-quiet, plenty of seating options for large parties, excellent directions to the house and pertaining to entering, awesome grounds. I would stay again in a heartbeat if a few of these items were corrected because I place a very high value on conscientious, responsible, and responsive owners. Also worth noting for future customers that the roads in and out of the property are narrow and winding in places. Bring lots of groceries and stock the fridge!

You simply won't find a more stunning property anywhere.

Let's just get this out of the way, it's a mildly daunting 7 minute winding (but beautiful) drive off the main road. But it's 1000% worth it when you arrive at the property! The steep hills, vines, light of the valley and buildings themselves are stunning, it's hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a group of friends or family. I'll leave out details of the main house, the pictures speak for themselves, but it's on par (or better) with any luxury hotel you could find. And of course, Thai is attentive, yet not at all intrusive and every question we had was met quickly and correctly. We just left this morning, so all is fresh in our minds. I would book this place again and again without a second of hesitation.

Beautiful Place

We had a absolute blast at your venue. Everything was provided just as we were promised. Having the 2 additional homes was a plus. I wish we could have spent more time on the property our schedule just doesn't allow for that. I would like to use the property again in the future maybe for a different time of the year. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend this venue for anyone to try.

Beautiful property

Beautiful, peaceful grounds. Two guesthouses to provide flexibility. Home is nice and open and great outdoor dining table adjacent to BBQ and gas firepit. Pay attention to instructions as not all mapping apps / GPS provide good directions. Everybody in our group had a great time and was in awe of the place.

Gorgeous, relaxing, fabulous location!

It was an absolute joy to stay at Steelhead Vineyards. We had the pleasure to be there with extended family the weekend of my wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The main house is awesome to make big meals and the layout of everything is conducive to big groups. We really loved the casitas also. They were much nicer than we expected and perfect to accommodate more people, have some space, and still be all together. Thai was very helpful and the grounds are beautiful! Highly recommend, 5 stars, awesome!!

Gorgeous home in wine country

Breath takingly beautiful. As another review stated, the pictures do not do this home and property justice! The drive in, the land, the view, the barn, the vineyard, the horses, the home... all beautiful!! Thai and Cynthia were quick to respond to all booking emails and when we had questions during our stay, we never had to wait for a response, I don't think they sleep!! The main house and both Casitas were beautiful inside and out. Each had enough toiletries for our arrival and stay. The beds in all the rooms were very comfortable. The kitchen in the main house was stocked with everything we needed and more. Like another reviewer did, our group cancelled dinner plans and stayed in to cook and enjoy the home. Close to Napa and Sonoma, we did wine tasting one day, golf the next and enjoyed the home on the last with a hike around the property and the vineyard. Absolutely lovely in every way. Thank you Thai and Cynthia!!!

Superb!

We celebrated the arrival of 2017 at Steelhead Creek Vineyards and it was wonderful. Thai and Cynthia are thoughtful hosts. Prior to our arrival, they provided an overview of the property's amenities, which span shower products to a fully stocked spice rack. As was mentioned in an earlier review, the pictures fail to capture the true beauty of the property and scenery. The light at sunset is spectacular, especially from the Stairway to Heaven. Thai met our party upon arrival and shared the details of the property. Later we got to meet Cynthia as well. They are very kind and genuinely cared about our experience. Thai also shared some of his wonderful malbec. The only thing missing from our vacation? More time to take in the property's beauty and relax outside by the fire! If you're looking for a relaxing escape with some wine tastings mixed in, I recommend you book Steelhead Creek Vineyards.

Wine country at its finest

What can I say-this property was amazing. From the moment we met the owner, we knew we made the right choice for our stay in Sonoma. The house is very well appointed from the comfortable bedding, to the gourmet kitchens-both inside and out, to the walking trails AND THE GRAND WELCOME FOR OUR BULLDOG! This house is well suited for families. The adjacent guest houses would accommodate a large number of people. Close to Calistoga, St Helena and many more vineyards in the immediate area are within 15 minutes of each other. Over 200 acres to explore. The views were breathtaking and the quietness of the mornings were well received. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Thai for making this holiday more memorable. Oh, and The stairway to heaven is a must see. The views are breathtaking.

Perfect vacation home in wine country

I can honestly say this was the best vacation home I have ever stayed in. Everything was picture perfect! The views on the property were amazing, especially the "stairway to heaven" spot on the way up the drive to the house. There's a deck with chairs and it was a perfect spot to have wine and cheese and enjoy the spectacular views. It was my 40th birthday celebration with 5 other couples and it could not have been a better house (and two additional guest houses) for our group to stay in. The master bedroom was a dream with a fireplace and private balcony with views of the vineyard and a perfect place to watch the sun rise. The guest houses were cozy and private. The house was perfectly decorated with comfortable seating and fireplaces in several rooms. We loved the kitchen and outdoor area so much we canceled dinner plans to cook and relax at home around the fire pit. Everyone in our group was so impressed with the home and the owners are fantastic and very helpful with tips on local restaurants and wineries to visit. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a relaxing get away in wine country. It was convenient to both Napa and Sonoma, as we spent one day in each area exploring the wineries. We were so sad to leave. Thanks again Thai and Cynthia for everything we hope to be back again someday!
