This immaculate two-bedroom/one-bath vacation rental is situated on the shores of beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. It features comfortable accommodations and stunning wide-water and mountain views! Perfect for a family getaway, Cedar Key Cabin includes one queen-size bed, two twins TV, VCR, DirectTV, internet access, central heating and air-conditioning, open beams, and hardwood floors. The home sleeps 4 persons comfortably.

Outdoors there's a deck with a charcoal grill and patio furniture. And there's a shared dock which is great for swimming and boating. Cedar Key Cabin is near the mountains and the Smith Mountain Lake dam and also located in a "NO WAKE" cove which is ideal for swimming. Welcome: Cedar Key Cabins are two immaculate vacation rentals located on the shores of beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. In addition to comfortable accommodations, you'll also enjoy stunning wide-water and mountain views!
Smith Mountain Lake is a boater's and fisherman's paradise. There are 500 miles of shoreline on this 40 mile long, 20,000 acre lake. If you have your own boat, you can launch it at nearby Mitchell's Point Marina and dock it at the Cabin's dock. Boat rentals and wave runners are available at several lake locations. From our location it is about 1000 feet to the main channel of the lake. For the fisherman, we are located on Witcher Creek where the stripers spawn. The lake is stocked with bass, muskies, northern pike, and other small game fish.

Dog friendly! Dogs are allowed on the property and have a wonderful time at the lake. However, please do not leave them alone. Even though your dog may be comfortable alone at home, dogs are often frightened when left in a strange place and can cause substantial damage. Cats are not allowed.

Perfectly peaceful weekend at the lake

We’ve been coming to stay at this property every year for 7 years. That fact should tell you all you need to know: it’s wonderful. Peaceful, secluded, quiet, well kept, and now with some improvements and a rearranged living room that seriously elevated the experience. We will continue to come back, and you should too.

Look no further for a peaceful, relaxing stay at the lake

My wife and I and our two dogs have been coming to this property almost every year for 6 years now. We wouldn't keep coming back if it wasn't WELL worth it. This time, we even brought our 3-month-old daughter for her first trip, and she had a blast as well. The property is clean, quiet, peaceful, comfortable, and contains everything you could need. The deck is perfectly spacious and situated for meals while looking at the beautiful lake, and the dock at the water is unbeatable as always. As usual, we can't wait to come back.

Great Getaway Cabin

Nice, private location with a great view. Cabin was very clean up on arrival and had some of the basics stocked. We will definitely try to return when the weather is nicer. Only thing to note is the marina that is listed is the closest to the cabin but the ramp and turn around area is very narrow/small. I don't recommend it for larger boats. We ended up using the state park.

Wonderful peaceful place

Great cottage on a beautiful lake. Hosts were great to work with. Highly recommend. One caution. If you are coming after summer season and want to rent kayaks or other boats, the nearby marinas close rentals after Labor Day. We would have brought our own kayaks had we known.

Weekend at the lake

My wife and I have been visiting this cabin with the same hosts since 2018. It’s a cozy space with a great view of the lake, and access to a no wake cove. Within the last year, the hosts have built a new walkway down to the dock. The walkway really levels out what was previously a steep path. It makes it much easier to reach the lake with dogs, paddleboards, or snacks in tow! The hosts are always very responsive and accommodating. We’d always recommend this stay.

A great SML getaway

Cabin 5 is a wonderful place if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature at it's finest. It is overlooking the beautiful SML lake! Our family had never spent so much time in a place whenever we are on vacation. But this time, we all decided to just stay and enjoy the lake and just relax in the cabin afterwards. Mrs. Foster is so kind and helpful. Her property is very clean and has everything that you need. When our daughter left her school laptop in the cabin. She came to the rescue and made sure we got the laptop back right away. Thank you so much Mrs. Foster! We look forward to coming back.. - The Santoses

Wonderful experience

This house (cabin) was very clean and well laid out. The beautiful knotty pine floors, walls, and ceilings plus exposed beans were complimented by furnishings in beige and soft white. The view from the lake facing main room and bedroom, and the porch was relaxing and peaceful. In spite of the fact that they accept dogs, nothing was damaged or worn. Our dog was very comfortable and happy. So were my husband and I. It was a wonderful experience.

Really enjoyed our stay at this clean and well-appointed cabin with fantastic deck views of lake and fully stocked kitchen. Our only suggestion would be to replace the queen bed mattress as it doesn't sleep comfortably. Otherwise, a wonderful time!

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating. The linen package was excellent. The bed in the queen room was a little too soft, but it was fine on the second night. The views were spectacular. The birds entertained us early in the morning, such a lovely quiet Cove! We will be back!
