A large fire pit sits nearby surrounded by chairs and plenty of firewood for s’mores or a hot dog roast. And if you’re an animal lover, an enclosure next to the house is home to a rotating group of our friendliest farm animals.

Black Oak Farms is a 100-acre, working farm located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Matt and Angela Slaughter have lived and worked on the property since 2019 and refer to Black Oak as their very own sanctuary. Since 2019, the couple has dreamed of creating opportunities in which they could share the extraordinary peace, beauty, and nature—the sanctuary—of Black Oak with others.
When Matt isn’t “Preparing the Way” for the Kingdom as pastor of Hill City Church in Fayetteville, he can usually be found working cattle, riding horses, or busy in the Black Oak fields. Angela is a self-taught baker and author. Matt and Angela reside in the Black Oak Bunkhouse, located on the property, with their son, Jeb, and two cattle dogs, Bo Mack and Tallulah.
