Fabulous House & Location

We had an amazing time in this fabulous house located in beautiful countryside but yet close to a lovely little town. The kids loved the swings, bikes, DVD's and books etc. etc. Extremely well equipped & comfortable house. Great to have use of a BBQ too. We will most definitely be back. Many thanks.

House with scenic beauty and near plenty of cultur

We are a family of 6 and had 3 glorious weeks at this property, surrounded by beautiful countryside...the views from the windows of the property are breathtaking. The children loved the garden, its swings and the rabbits on the lawn in the early morning. We ate outdoors in the shade of the privet most days, and even had a bbq before we left. The beaches of Kervoyal and Damgan were great an not far from the house. We are keen visitors of French castles and visited several both on the gulf of Morbihan and the Loire Atlantique. I think the family's favourite visits were the medieval ramparts of Guerande and the ruins of the Ranrouet. The region is well furnished with supermarkets and the restaurants in both Rochefort en Terre and La Roche Bernard are of a high standard. Truely a beautiful area, and the Bretons as charming and welcoming as ever.

Rural getaway

Very peaceful quiet location, surrounded by fields, an ideal location for either a quiet getaway or family holiday. Within easy driving distance of both the local village and the more cosmopolitan La Roche Bernard, both of which provide varied and interesting walks should you so wish. Many beaches within easy reach and we would highly recommend the beach by Chateau de Suscinio. For the keen walker this area provides many and varied picturesque routes to explore. We would not hesitate to recommend this house to others wishing to explore the area.

Wonderful peaceful cottage

We had a wonderful time at this lovely house with a massive garden, the amount of birdsong was fantastic. Sitting in the garden with a glass of wine listening to a myriad of different birds was so relaxing. The house has all of the facilities you need, the local restaurant served a very nice meal but was only open for dining on Friday and Saturday evenings. Strongly recommend Rochefort on Terre and La Roche Bernard all in all a lovely first week of our holiday.

GREAT VACATIONS IN BRITTANY

We have spent two weeks in Les Chênes and I can say that these were the best vacations in my life. The location is great – it is a very quiet and peaceful place. The house is good – spacious and well equipped, with big parking area. But the key point is the territory – the garden is really amazing, we spent every evening there. Even the kids, who usually prefer to stay inside with their gadgets, appreciated it. And to sit with a glass of wine at dusk was quite romantic. There is a lot of good beaches in the region, we've been at five or six. In Damgan beach we collected oysters at low tide – it was a great experience. Nice landscapes in Quiberon Peninsula (cliffs on one side and beaches on the other), a really posh beach in La Baule Escoublac – actually one of the best I've seen in Europe. And a considerable number of beautiful medieval villages, small towns and castles (I highly recommend Rochefort-en-Terre and Josselin). Special thanks to the Owner for the detailed information about the house amenities and the region in general. We knew exactly how to get to every beach and what were the working hours for every market (it was quite useful, because the market in every village takes place usually once or twice a week). Also the neighbors (Tony and Madge) were very friendly and helpful. Summarizing my impressions I can say that Les Chênes is an ideal place for family vacations, especially for people coming from big and noisy cities.

Beautiful and tranquil setting

We had a fantastic time at Les Chenes. It is set in a very peaceful part of Brittany with lovely surroundings. The property has good internet and TV provisions. The garden is large and the kids thoroughly loved it. Location is very good and can conveniently reach many beaches and towns within an hour. Highly recommended!

Great Easter Break

The house is lovely and rustic this was our second visit and we took our bikes this time for a relaxing break getting away from it all. Owners were most helpful in planning our break. As there is plenty of space the children took a friend with them, which meant they were keen to take advantage of the huge garden and had some wonderful games of hide and seek. Some mornings the children and I ran or cycled through the peaceful idyllic French countryside to the nearest boulangerie to practice their French and buy fresh croissants for breakfast. We also used the time to explore the areas we had not seen last time. We had a wonderful time at Branfere country park which also has great 'bouncy' area for the children of all ages (and adults!) to let off steam high in the trees! Whilst the adults enjoyed the French cuisine and house is well equipped for cooking, Peale's new mobile van making fresh Pizzas went down well with the younger members of the group. Another highlight was visiting the beach at Mine D'Or where the wildlife visible at low tide was amazing huge numbers of crabs, oysters, jellyfish, mussels, and the locals were happy to discuss what they were collecting and how they would cook them!! In the evening it was great that the children were able to make as much noise as they wanted in the top bunkroom watching videos whilst we relaxed downstairs sampling the local wine. The perfect retreat for a chilled break, and an ideal house to use as a jumping off point for exploring Brittany.

Easter break in Brittany

The house is located in a pretty part of Brittany that is close to some gorgeous beaches and great towns. We went with my in-laws, three children and two dogs. The house accomodated us all comfortably and provided a great base to explore the countryside, towns, markets and beaches. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful upon our arrival and during our stay. The garden is fantastic and offers a great outside space that is expectionally private set amoungst tranquil countryside. The centre of the village is 2 mins by car and the bakery has wonderful crossaints, bread and cakes. There are a couple of good resturants in Muzillac but the house is well equipped for cooking 'at home'. The vet in Muzillac spoke good English and made taking the dogs abroad a doddle. We all had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this house as a good base to explore this part of France.

Il devient urgent de revoir la propreté et l hygiène, notamment les couverts ustensiles cuisine couverts de moisissure, on a du nettoyer les couverts avant l utilisation (entre autres) housse de matelas non adaptés au format literie...etc photos à l appuie si besoin est... C' est dommage... la maison a pourtant du potentiel !

L'intérieur nécessite vraiment un bon rafraichissement Sanitaires à changer Batterie de cuisine à renouveler Supprimer la moquette sur les escaliers et les tapis Bref un état général négligé et c'est dommage car la maison ne manque pas de charme. Si problème, il vaut mieux parles anglais car le propriétaire ne parle pas trop le francais

Maison idéale pour la famille

2 ème séjour, maison au calme accueillante. Il y a tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner, manger, en extérieur, se relaxer dans le jardin. Cuisinière à double four appréciable pour les repas en famille. La literie est très bonne. La chambre pour les enfants dans les combles est simple et efficace grande capacité de couchage . Une table pour qu'ils.jouent. Nous apprécions toujours autant cette maison et nous reviendrons encore . Le seul bémol c'est l éloignement du centre ville. Mais pour nous ça nous va!

Bonne situation géographique, maison charmante mais qui nécessite plus de ménage/aération

La maison est très fonctionnelle, bien équipée. Elle est située au bout d’une allée, face à des champs, ce qui est idéal pour être tranquille. Le jardin est grand et pratique, tout comme la terrasse. La région est très jolie à proximité, il faut la voiture pour tout, mais ça se fait bien. Le propriétaire est très sympathique par téléphone, et relativement réactif. L’élevage (ou la meute) de chiens de chasse juste à côté est vraiment gênante le matin : les chiens hurlent à 8h/8h30, et ils sont nombreux. La maison manque de ménage et/ou d’aération : les canapés sont plein de poussières et d’acariens/insectes. Nous avons été dévorés notamment la nuit dans les lits, c’est très désagréable. La literie est hétérogène, tout le monde n’a pas forcément bien dormi mais rien d’insurmontable.

Super séjour dans une superbe maison!

Nous avons passé un super séjour à Péaule La maison est superbe, très bien équipée et parfaitement entretenue. La communication avec les propriétaires était parfaite et nous avons pu profiter de toute la documentation précieuse fournie par eux sur la région. Je recommande vivement cette location qui nous a permis de passer un formidable séjour

Séjour au calme à la campagne

Pour parvenir à la propriété située en pleine campagne, Steve nous a adressé toutes les indications nécessaires. La location se trouve à 2 km environ du village où sont les commodités (supérette, boulangerie). Dans la maison, il y a absolument tout ce qu'il faut pour profiter du séjour (ustensiles de cuisine, bbq, vélos, raquettes, ballons, jeux de société, cd, dvd, ...). A l'extérieur, on peut se relaxer sur les transats dans le grand jardin ombragé. Très bel endroit. A recommander.

Maison de campagne à péaule

Simplement une maison familiale superbe , au calme . Équipée avec tout le nécessaire pour passer un agréable séjour , vélos, jouets à disposition pour les enfants.bbq pour les grands. On se relax en prenant un café sur un transat tout en regardant les enfants faire de la balançoire et s amuser dans le.jardin. Je recommande très très fortement.

Très agréable location familiale

Excellente localisation de cette maison familiale proche de la mer et des sites patrimoniaux de cette belle région, dotée d'un grand jardin sécurisé, très agréable pour les enfants. Bons équipements mais lorsque on est nombreux (9 dans mon cas) la pièce de vie salon est un peu petite avec de gros meubles. L'ensemble mériterait un petit rafraichissement mais globalement très bonne location. Petit regret la location est destinée principalement à des anglophones: bibliothèque et instruction quasi exclusivement en anglais, mais très bon pour les révisions de rentrée! Le propriétaire est très sympathique et réactif.

Excellente location

Maison très accueillante avec un confort suffisant pour une grande famille . Un immense terrain convient très bien aux enfants : nombreux jeux , vélo, un petit kart,balançoires et on peut jouer au foot sans gêner les voisins , car la maison est entourée de champs ! Par contre , les parquets grincent , ce qui est un peu gênant la nuit à l'étage .

Always liked France and Brittany and fell in love with property for reasons below - much more recently renting it to help cover costs.

1. Great location in France - easy drive from UK/France and S Morbihan was the warmest and driest part of Brittany, yet close to many attractions and seaside.
2. Secluded 'get-away' rural location with large garden and good views, well away from main roads, yet only 3km from nearest town for supplies. Love sipping French wine/eating bread and cheese, relaxing with friends and playing with kids in back garden, which seems a million miles from crowded SE England!
3. Characterful house fine for a few people - also with plenty of space for friends to stay - especially with large attic room for kids!

In addition to great location and garden and spacious house noted above, we renovated house and installed broadband and French ADSL TV plus UK Freesat (and bicycles etc.!) for keeping guests and ourselves more happy and entertained!
