Quiet, Romantic, Montecito Retreat

Our cottage is located at the end of a cul de sac on a one acre paradise with beautifully designed gardens in Montecito. Located just under a mile from the ocean, the 800 square foot cottage has a lovely living room with gas/wood burning fireplace, spacious full kitchen and a main bedroom with full bath. A second room with a desk and day bed can be used either as an office or second bedroom.2 sets of french doors in the living room open to a private large covered patio area and garden. On the covered patio you'll find a relaxing hammock, small table and chairs and BBQ. Easy access to shopping, restaurants, the beach and hiking trails make this the perfect semi-rural getaway. The cottage has all the modern amenities including a fully equipped kitchen, 40 "flat screen TV with streaming services, and excellent wi-fi. Please note that stays of 30 days or more receive a 10% discount plus a 12% tax discount for a total of a 22% discount.

The winery question makes no sense. There are no wineries in Montecito and that’s not why one goes there. The cottage was quiet, comfortable and very well located. The hosts were very accommodating.

Holiday visit

A wonderful “home base” while visiting family. The cottage is as pictured, charming and private, in a lovely quiet neighborhood between Montecito’s Upper and Lower Villages. Just a few minutes to all the area has to offer. We had everything we needed and more. Communication was easy and the experienced hosts very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Hacienda Magic

What an amazing stay we had at this beautiful little piece of heaven. Everything about it was wonderful. Nestled amongst towering eucalyptus trees and blooming bougainvillea and with a cool ocean breeze blowing during this heat wave, it was the perfect place to be. The decor, comfy bed, beautifully tiled bathroom, peaceful/quiet setting and outdoor living area complete with a nap-inducing hammock made it so relaxing! The hosts, Vicky and Gary, were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. So yep. You bet we’d recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay in beautiful Montecito CA. Thank you so much!

Charming private cottage in lush garden setting

This cottage sits in a lovely landscape filled with birdsong. Beautifully crafted and comfortably furnished, it invites relaxation (hammock included). The hosts are wonderful and considerate, which shows in the many thoughtful details that make the cottage special.

Best VRBO Ever!

While we have stayed in countless short term rentals in the U.S. and abroad, this one overall stands above the others. The casita was the perfect size for us and was well designed and decorated (including an awesome fireplace that uses either wood or gas. There is a large separate room off of the main living quarters where you can store bicycles, luggage etc. In addition, the cottage overlooks their beautiful gardens.which seems to always be in bloom. The owners, Gary and Vicky, are super nice and helpful and we even went on several walks/hikes with them. Finally, the location is perfect, close to the beach and mountains. By all means, if the place is available -- GRAB IT!

A Little Slice of Heaven!

If you are a person who appreciates nature and attention to detail, I highly recommend Hedgerow. After staying in two busy SoCal beach towns, I loved the relative quiet of this property with its beautiful plantings and abundant bird sightings. Sleeping with the windows open and hearing the night sounds made for excellent rest (as did the comfortable bed and quality bedding). I really liked the location of this property; it’s easily accessible to the freeway, yet you can take a beautiful walk to Montecito Village in one direction or walk in the other direction to the local Miramar Beach. And of course downtown Santa Barbara is only about a 5 mile drive. Hosts Vicky and Gary are great, too; they’re available for anything you need but they give you lots of privacy. I was sad to leave, and I would love to stay here again!

The cottage was perfect for my needs. It was very comfortable, quiet and well- appointed. The owners were gracious, and available when needed. The location was close to everything in Montecito, and not far from Santa Barbara. Miramar Beach was less than a mile from the cottage.

Idyllic cottage in quiet setting

We had stayed in this cottage a few years ago and enjoyed everything about it. We opted to stay a longer period this trip, 2 weeks, with one week as vacation and the second week as "stay at home" work. This was an excellent location to work from, quiet and peaceful, and the Internet performance was excellent allowing video conferencing calls to proceed smoothly. For those more interested in time away from work, the restful setting, full kitchen (should you prefer to prepare your meals), tastefully appointed interior and beautifully appointed landscape setting, will make it difficult to leave. The owners are very easy to work with and assured our stay was pleasant. We look forward to another stay in the near future!

Perfect Getaway!

What an incredible week we had! We were treated by our gracious hosts Vicky and Gary who couldn’t have been more welcoming! They were very organized and had everything we needed at the ready. The property was exactly as described - exactly! It is a gorgeous cottage on a beautifully taken care of piece of property. The gardens were gorgeous. Nice we’re so quiet and peaceful. Quiet Getaway in Paradise!

Vicky & Gary’s property is absolutely perfect! Quiet, clean and charming, it has all the amenities to feel as cozy as home, but better. Set in a quiet neighborhood at the end of a cul de sac, the guesthouse sits at the back of their property but offers full privacy from any neighbors. The home itself is well appointed with everything you will need for your getaway and Vicky is available to help with any suggestions for dining as well. Only minutes to the beach or downtown Santa Barbara, makes it an ideal location too. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! (Mazie was an added cute bonus!) Thank you for being such great hosts!

Lacking Privacy

The unit was in VERY close proximity to main house. You could see into their windows & vice versa. Even worse was lumpy squeaky bed. Nice linens however. Interior of unit had entire section closed off as art studio. Not happy with single ply TP or no kleenex anywhere or half used costco size toilities like Suave. Ultra long shower curtain was tripping hazard. Also disappointed shower had no hand held fixture. Amazing pictures do not reflect lack of privacy or lack of luxury amenities associated with a Montecito property.

A piece of Paradise

I can not say enough good things about this property and the hosts (Vicky and Gary). My wife and I have stayed at numerous properties all over Southern California, but this is quite possibly the best. The location is beautiful, we felt a million miles away from the chaos of our work-life, and the cottage itself was perfectly designed and decorated. Also, the property was a quick drive into Santa Barbra for dinning and shopping. My wife and I had wonderful weekend and would love to come back. You can not go wrong with this property.

The Cottage has several endearing features including real hardwood flooring, handpainted tile in the kitchen, bathroom and fireplace, a hand painted bathroom sink from Puerta Vallarta, and special lighting fixtures in the bedroom and bathroom. Enjoy all this while looking out on beautiful garden views.
