Escape to this charming Santa Cruz beach house, ideally situated steps from Twin Lakes Beach and a short 4-minute walk to Walton Lighthouse. Enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds from the comfort of your stay. Explore the nearby Santa Cruz Boardwalk and renowned surfing spots, including Pleasure Point and Steamer Lane. This home combines prime location with a welcoming atmosphere and tons of personality.

The Space:
Affectionately described by our repeat guests as quirky, charming, lovely, cozy and whimsical-this Twin Lakes beach side cottage has personality that storybooks are made from. Located steps from the sand and only a few hundred yards from the water's edge location is among its best features. As cool as being next to the beach is the fact that it is surrounded by all things Santa Cruz. The beach boardwalk, world-famous surfing spots, shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, and so much more. It is a large house filled with character-think Grandma's cottage. The kitchen is fully stocked-meal prep and cook here or on the propane grill outside on the patio. One bedroom is located on the main level. Two other bedrooms and half bath are upstairs. The large patio spans two sides of the house. (Note the exterior spiral staircase is for owner's use only). The living room is a perfect setting to enjoy an intimate evening. Shut out the digital distractions and read a book while listening to the surf or play a family game. Dinner can be enjoyed at the dining table, the patio table outside or pack it up and walk across the street for a picnic on the beach. Bring your bikes as there is much to explore in casual biking distance. If you like to explore, take to our favorite neighboring towns of Capitola, Aptos or Santa Cruz at the Wharf. You are sure to make many memories here!

Guest Access:
We will provide you with check in instructions the evening before arrival. Guests can access the entire space through lock box located on the back door. Guests can drive down the alleyway and park behind the house. There is one parking space behind the house. Additional parking is on the street-first come-first serve. We also provide a welcome binder with additional details about the property and the neighborhood.

*PLEASE NOTE: Access to upper deck may not be suitable for children - possibility of danger as upper deck leads to an outdoor spiral staircase that is closed due to safety. Outdoor spiral staircase is closed. Access to upper deck through upper bedroom only.

The Neighborhood:
Situated in the heart of Santa Cruz steps to Twin Lakes Beach, near The Walton Lighthouse and The Crow's Nest. A short drive to Seabright Beach, the favorite surfing spots of Pleasure Point & Steamer Lane, The Boardwalk, The Harbor and so many more Santa Cruz must-see locations! 12 minutes to Capitola Village where the river meets the ocean you can enjoy a meal oceanside, grab an ice cream cone and walk the Village streets or explore the shops. For some more whimsical charm-take a walk under the bridge and up the river walk! Less than 30 minutes away you will find Aptos-where the redwoods meet the ocean. Take in a hike, taste some wine, do some shopping, choose a meal whether it be sushi, fine dining or fireside tapas and beer.

Getting Around:
Most popular locations are within walking distance of the home. There is designated parking located behind the house and additional street parking for overflow. Guests can drive down the alleyway and park behind the house.
Many attractions on the local beaches can be accessed by walking. If you are able to bring along your bikes you can venture even further out up and down the beaches and to the surrounding towns. By car you can quickly access the towns of Santa Cruz, Capitola and Aptos. Further out you can drive to Monterey-which is about an hour south.

Other Things to Note:
We love your furry friends too! Well behaved pets are allowed with a $100 pet fee. Fee must be paid in advance. Pets are not to be left unattended in the property unless in a crate (and only if your pet does not bark in the crate) and under no circumstances are pets allowed on beds or furniture.

There are no daily housekeeping services. The property is cleaned before arrival and after departure. We provide hand soap, dish soap, dish towels, hand towels, bath towels, wash cloths, paper towels and toilet paper. Shampoo and body wash is provided.

*Note: Paint in lower bedroom is chipping on walls due to temperature fluctuations due to location (one house in from beach)

NOTE: Please be aware that due to cooler climate experienced from ocean breezes, properties in Santa Cruz county, especially near the coast, typically do not have air conditioning.
