We had a great stay in this property. We were here for the Kona Ironman and the house provided a fabulous opportunity to escape the busy town during race week. Spectacular view and great features made it a superb rental options.
We loved our stay in this house! The kitchen was fully supplied, my husband loved the French press. The view was great, loved eating in the screened porch.

Mahalo for your review!! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay!! Hope to have you back again sometime!
Our visit to Haku Hale was just perfect, as it always is. We are repeat visitors and love our Hawaiian home away from home. Mahalo to our hosts for opening your home to us. We look forward to visiting in the future!
Beautiful vacation home with incredible views.
Comfortable accommodations with plenty of amenities.
Close to the airport, shopping, beach, sightseeing or just staying in to BBQ and relax.
Mahalo!
Excellent jumping off point for all of our adventures on the Big Island! Very well stocked kitchen and grill allowed us to make sack lunches, breakfasts, and dinners. Beds were comfortable and we all slept well. Plenty of room to spread out and relax after busy days. We especially appreciated the beach towels and cooler as well as the gorgeous view of the ocean.

Mahalo for your wonderful review! So happy that you enjoyed your stay!
What a perfect vacation getaway! Gorgeous landscaping all around the home. Lanai perfect for early morning coffee, a fine dinner on the large dining area, or watching the colorful sunsets. Nice view of the ocean from lanai or patio. Just the right size for our family of 5, the furnishings and decor were perfect.
Our group has an absolutely phenomenal time during our stay. The house is extremely well appointed, and just a short drive to all Kona destinations. The lanai and outdoor patio were the perfect way to start and end every day. I will be on the lookout for this property again, the next time we travel to the Big Island. Thanks!

This was the perfect place to gather with my family and friends as we celebrated my friend's 55th birthday. Very clean and spacious and in a great location where it was just a short drive to Alii Drive. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and the grill outside was clean and ready to go! It had everything we needed for the beach (even though it rained most of the time) but we still used the umbrellas and cooler. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!
What a beautiful property, and it is exactly as described and photographed! Our family of 4 stayed for a week, and our two kids could have each brought a friend to stay. Lots of room to hang out. My favorite was waking up every morning and having my coffee on the lanai looking out over the beach. And the sunsets every night were glorious; we cooked in a lot and the view every night was gorgeous! 5 minutes from the town for restaurants, 20 minutes from our favorite beach, so very accessible. Thanks for all the beach supplies!
In the middle of a residential district but once through the front door, one really has no awareness of neighboring homes. One looks over the roofs to the ocean beyond. Adjacent homes are behind and screened so curiously the house feels very private, except for the periodic traffic sound from streets a block or two away (nothing terrible). Located right off the main highway, it's quick to go north or south to find whatever you're seeking (e.g., beaches, town, shopping, etc.). We'd definitely stay there again.
The host was great and communicated well. This is a beautiful property with gorgeous windows and views—unfortunately we had to spend the days at my daughter’s VRBO because this house was so HUMID and HOT. I came for my daughter’s wedding and every time I put my makeup on it would just sweat off. It was terrible. They did provide fans and cooling units but that didn’t do much during the day. It was bearable at night. It was a beautiful place but if you are sensitive to heat and humidity this is not the place to stay.

I have a late response to this review . . .it is so unfair to give such a low rating on a property when it was booked knowing there was no A/C. This would be more of a rating if it had not been what it was advertised to be, and this person was uninformed about the A/C situation. It is also a very mild time of year and we have not gotten any negative reviews on either site about the heat being unbearable, especially in our winter time. Others have possibly mentioned the heat, to let others know or warn them, but they have not unfairly given such a damaging rating.
Holly's house was absolutely wonderful and spacious. It's fully stocked with everything you need. Communication is great, the ocean view is gorgeous. Everything is 5 star!!
This house is perfect for a couple or two, very nicely designed and furnished, with a huge, screened lanai that was our favorite place to relax after a day of snorkeling, sightseeing or hiking. The sunsets were breathtaking. The owners were very friendly and everything was well stocked and comfortable. We hope to return soon.
Convenient location and modern very well equipped house. Beach chairs, umbrella, cooking utensils , towels all very nice and easy to use. Would recommend to a friend . The property manager wad very responsive and helpful
This was a beautiful place to enjoy our first trip the Big Island. There was plenty of room for 4 kids and 2 adults. Would highly recommend the place for a big group or family. The house was well stocked and ready for cooking, came with plenty of outdoor equipment (snorkeling gear, beach chairs and umbrella, beach towels). It had everything we could possibly want.
This is an outdoor living environment where the giant lanai is the living room and dining. This means there can be a few (very few!) small bugs and crawling critters can get in the house. This is super manageable and was never a problem, but you do need to manage food waste/spent drinks sitting out.
Fantastic place and a great value too!
We stayed a month here and it was truly wonderful. Indoor-outdoor living at its best. The generous amenities were appreciated, such as the plentiful kitchen and bathroom supplies and towels. The layout of the house is also great with the kitchen and laundry being on the opposite side of the bedrooms, making it more kid friendly.

What makes this property unique
Hale Haku overlooks the the Sadie Seymour Botanical Gardens and Kona Education Center that features the historic Kealakowa’a (“the way for dragging canoes”) Heiau. This ritual site, built in the 1600’s in the time of King Umi, was used for blessing canoes and can be seen from the lanai. The 1.9-acre site contains a group of platforms including a heiau for the high priest to officiate, an astrological temple to study omens and navigational stars, the foundation of a high priest’s house, and the foundation of a house in which were held council meetings of the seers and chiefs. The sacred site is positioned along an ancient trail that led from the upland forests of Acacia koa trees on Mt. Hualalai down to the Pacific Ocean at Holualoa Bay.
