This was a beautiful home! Everything was clean and tidy and the host was quickly responsive when we had questions. Gold Bar and the surrounding area is adorable, too! There are great hiking trails, good restaurants and a nice grocery store just down the street. The kitchen has brand new appliances and is well stocked with pots, pans, and spices. The knives were in great condition too! We cooked most of our meals there, including a full Thanksgiving with a turkey, ham and all the fixings (with lots of leftovers!).The hot tub was super relaxing and the creek provided lots of entertainment, too.If we head out thay way again we will look to stay at basecamp!
Super cute house. The creek in the backyard was a big hit with my 8 year old. We watched a family of raccoons come out and play in the water, free entertainment!
This VRBO was the perfect place for a weekend girls' reading retreat. The property had clearly been extensively updated and everything felt to spacious. We loved the hot tub and kitchen especially! The hosts were super responsive and helpful when we first got there and didn't understand how to operate the electronic door lock. There were a few things that could have made the stay even better (more quality cooking tools to fill the lovely kitchen, additional spa-specific towels, a way to remotely turn off the outdoor string lights, another comfy chair or two in the living area, a dvd player) but truly, those would be icing on an already great cake. 4 of us adults stayed here happily. We went on a hike at the nearby Wallace Falls state park (the parking lot fills up FAST so cross your fingers for a spot), got some treats at Sultan Bakery (try the lemondrop cheesecake!), and spent a lot of money at the delightly We Be Book'n bookstore/cafe in Monroe. All in all, a comfortable rental to cook, read, watch movies, and relax in.
The property is beautiful and quiet, very very clean with modern appliances. Wonderful fireplace area, the kitchen was immaculate, nice and big, lots of counter space and big kitchen table! Comfortable beds and bedrooms, the big bathroom with big roomy shower. The hot tub was very nice, we were in it a few times during our stay. Got to see some local wildlife throughout our stay (ducks, geese, raccoon). The deck overlooking the river was PERFECT for our small wedding ceremony, just 6 of us in total (family) and it was exactly what we wanted. We loved our stay!Only a couple of minor suggestions. Kitchen needs sponges or dish cloths, a couple more big chairs with arm rests would have been great. The hot tub was missing its chlorine floater, but the host was great and helped us with the water quality and accessing needed items. We wanted a small cozy location near these majestic mountains yet big enough for 6. This property was perfect, could not have asked for more!!! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay, we are hoping to return for our first anniversary!!
