Relax and unwind, enjoying the natural surroundings inside and outside of this cabin. The cabin address is 5018 Whitehaven Lane, Huntingdon, PA 16652. We are located 7 miles south of Huntingdon. We are 5 miles from Allegrippis Trail for biking enthusiasts and Seven Points Recreation area at Raystown Lake for water sports. The distance to Juniata College is about 8 miles (15 minutes) and Penn State main campus is about 37 miles (45 minutes).

There are convenience stores nearby as well as a full-service Walmart within 10 minutes. You won’t find a lot of nationally-known restaurants other than fast-food in Huntingdon. But we have some wonderful Mom & Pop eateries with yummy food, coffee shops (some with drive-thru), beverage distributors, pubs, and quaint retail shops in our surrounding towns.

The cellular service in the area is pretty reliable with Verizon offering the best signal.

Our setting is a 6.5-acre wooded property and the cabin is semi-private with other cabins about 125 feet away. Guests are expected to stay within the open and wooded areas of their respective cabins. All guests have access to the shared driveway for walks with humans and furbabies. Multiple cabins can be reserved by groups for gatherings and all cabins are listed on this website. Our cabins are completely furnished with most of the comforts of home, much like a small house.

The living room has upholstered furniture and offers a Smart TV, internet/wifi and there is also a DVD player. The kitchen includes a full size electric range with oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeepot, toaster, cookware, dinnerware, and utensils. The dining area in the kitchen has a table with 6 chairs. 2 bedrooms are on the main floor, one having a king bed and the other having a queen bed. The third bedroom upstairs has 3 single beds and a double bed. The bathroom on the main floor has a shower with tub, toilet and sink. We provide pillows, blankets and bedspreads. Guests bring their own sheets and towels. We provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a bath mat.

Outside the cabin you’ll find a covered front porch with a picnic table and stacking chairs. In front of the cabin there is a charcoal grill and to the side is a campfire ring.

Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania, stretching 29 miles long. The surrounding area is owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with popular attractions including caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. There are 3 different trails so that anyone from beginner to expert can enjoy the ride. There’s also a skills park across from the visitor center where you can stop for all sorts of info on the way to Seven Points Marina. Fishing tournaments are frequently held in the area. During your stay, you may be blessed to see a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.

With an eye to invest in rental property during the late 1990's, a broker led us to our lovely cabin property. We fell instantly in love with the property and made an offer to purchase right away. Although we were delayed in closing by paperwork on the seller's side, we began renting even before we officially owned! Thus began our real estate investing and my choice to become a licensed real estate agent. If you are leaning in that direction, I would gladly share my experience with you.

Why they chose this property

We have made many improvements since 1998, keeping the rustic charm but making the cabin more comfortable for our guests. The cabin is semi-private with natural vegetation surrounding it. A relaxing area awaits with a picnic table, campfire ring and cast-iron charcoal grill. While we are not set up to host large numbers of people for meals, etc. there are many picnic areas and pavilions nearby which can be secured for just such an event. These areas may be reserved by calling the US Army Corps of Engineers office.

What makes this property unique

Awaken to birds singing in the morning. If you rise early enough, you may see the deer trek down off the hill toward the creek (a deer run goes right across our property). Make sure your eyes are open... a guest was walking her dog and startled a deer right behind her cabin! Rock and roll to your hearts delight on the lake or the trails, then return to your cabin and grill your favorite meal. Relax by the campfire, enjoy your beverage and just chill.
