It began by not knowing how to get in because the door was tricky and there was a special method in order for the passcode to work. I had to get the resident downstairs to show me how that worked. Next, the thermostat was set at a certain temperature and kept resetting to that temperature which was very uncomfortable. Thirdly, the Wi-Fi code did not work we weren’t sent the correct code. So for 24 hours, I had no Wi-Fi access whatsoever which included using either the TVs. In addition, there was a beeping dryer, that kept beeping all night, and only by plane with it for several minutes. Could I get it to turn off on the second day. When expressing all of my concerns, to the owner, he said he was going to have a technician come out. I agreed to this. I asked him not to have the technician come out for a two hour period that I would be home in the afternoon, because I needed to rest. He sent the technician out during that two hours. Even though he had acknowledged that he would not do that ahead of time. So the issue with the thermostat never got resolved.

Thank you for your stay, Kelly. This reservation was booked under your name, and prior to arrival there was no indication that another guest would be the primary occupant. When Andrew arrived and had difficulty entering the property, you provided his phone number and asked that I contact him directly. Because Andrew was not using the VRBO messaging platform, communication had to occur by phone and text. While I did my best to assist, this made troubleshooting less efficient than VRBO’s recommended in-platform messaging. During our communication, Andrew indicated his primary concern was the thermostat. In his last message to me he confirmed the temperature was holding steady at 73°. I also resolved the Wi-Fi issue by providing the correct password. To ensure everything was functioning properly, I arranged for a maintenance technician to inspect the HVAC system. However, shortly before the technician arrived, Andrew informed me he was resting and that the technician could not enter at that time, so the inspection could not be completed. Andrew also mentioned the dryer had been buzzing; he later indicated he had addressed it, though no additional details were provided. I also provided a complimentary late checkout to help accommodate his schedule. I strive to provide responsive support and a comfortable experience for every guest and made multiple efforts to assist throughout the stay. Thank you again for choosing the property.

Great location. Bryan was helpful and reached out through the whole stay. He even worried about the sun in the bedroom and had new curtains installed before we get there. The unit is 2nd floor upstairs and has plenty of room and amenities. Stocked coffee maker and snacks, and the basics you need. The bed was comfortable and it was close to the main roads and restaurants and shopping. We would stay here again when visiting Columbus.

About the host

Hosted by Bryan S. Mitchell

Hi, I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. After serving over 20 years in the Army—a journey that took me across the country and around the world—I retired and began a new chapter. Of all the places I’ve lived, Columbus, Georgia has truly felt like home. It’s the perfect-sized city with everything you need close at hand. As a host, I enjoy creating a warm, comfortable space where guests can feel at ease—without stretching their budget.

Why they chose this property

I chose this location because Midtown is the vibrant heart of the city—perfectly central and incredibly convenient. Whether you’re heading to top attractions, amazing restaurants, or public transit, you can get just about anywhere in under 20 minutes. Plus, it’s just steps away from a beautiful park, offering a peaceful green space to relax, jog, or enjoy a picnic. It’s the ideal base for experiencing the best of the city.

What makes this property unique

This freshly renovated apartment combines modern comfort with a cozy atmosphere in an unbeatable location. Whether you’re here to explore the city or work remotely, you’ll appreciate the spacious layout, stylish design, and complete privacy—rare finds in this part of town.
