Seeing Austin by Bicycle is one of the best ways to experience our wonderful city. We have 12 quality bicycles available for guests to choose from, including: Specialized, Peugeot, Schwinn and Trek (check our photo section to see the bikes) stored onsite across our driveway. All of our bicycles are trail or city style with a minimum of 7 gears and rack on the back for carrying small items (i.e. Towels if you are riding to Barton Springs Pool). Our bicycles are regularly maintained, tuned, cleaned and lubricated for trouble free use. We provide helmet, lock and lights and we take the time to set up the seat height and make sure the bike is comfortable for each rider. This process starts with a simple waiver form followed by a review of the shifter and brake controls and a test ride to make sure all is working well before riding off to see Austin. This process takes about 30 minutes for two bicycles. Our guests store the bikes in the Art Alley Lofts courtyard where they can access them anytime. We typically set up guests with bikes in the late afternoon or the following morning, depending on check in timing. Best of all, our bicycles are free to use for our guests. We have successfully provided bicycles to hundreds of guests over our 3 years of operation. We strive to make each Art Alley Loft guest very happy with his or her visit and to exceed expectations – please read through our 50+ reviews averaging 5 stars !! In this case we had guests who arrived at 1:30 am and used our lockbox to get in. (Sometimes we can stay up to meet late night arrivals and sometimes we use the lockbox.) We met the guests at 9:30 am the following morning to greet them and complete the check-in. We gave them the bicycle waiver forms and offered to set up a time later in the morning to get them bicycles, as we had to run off to an appointment just after the check-in. They wanted the bikes right then and wanted to take the bikes in the courtyard that were already in use by other guests. They chose to go find their own rental bikes instead of meeting us later in the day. We saw these guests during the stay and they said they loved our Art Alley Lofts and our fabulous location and made no mention of the bikes, until we received the review. We were very surprised. We love making every single guest extremely happy with his or her stay at our Art Alley Lofts and will continue to do everything reasonably possible to exceed our guests’ expectations.
