Thank you so much for this lovely review. We are so happy to hear the kids enjoyed the claw foot tub and all the games, and that the bookshelf and vintage character stood out to you. Creating a cozy, stress free place for families to enjoy is exactly what we hope for. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we would love to welcome you back to Ely Camp Haus anytime.
This was the perfect house for our stay "up north." It is close to many cute shops and restaurants. The beds were all comfy and the photos don't do it justice for all the historical character of the house. We appreciated all the extra blankets and pillows. The kids loved the game chest with tons of family games. While we were busy most of the daylight hours enjoying the surrounding area we were happy to come back here at night to put our feet up.

Thank you so much for this kind review. We are truly happy to hear Ely Camp Haus was a great fit for your up north stay. It means a lot that you noticed the character of the home and felt comfortable settling in at the end of full days exploring Ely. I am especially glad the kids enjoyed the game chest and that the extra blankets and pillows were helpful. You were wonderful guests, and we would love to welcome you back anytime.
a great location and plenty of space for us. The screen porch was one of our favorites spots to hang out and read or play games. The home is in the heart of Ely which made it super easy just to pop out for dinner, shopping or a walk around miners lake. Host was very responsive and check in was easy.

Thank you so much for the kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed the space and made good use of the screen porch for reading and games. It is one of our favorite spots too. We love hearing that the location made it easy to explore Ely and enjoy Miners Lake, and I am happy check in felt smooth and communication was helpful. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we would love to welcome you back anytime.
Wonderful, cute place just off downtown, but also a short walk to Miner's Lake. Literally, a 100 ft walk to a coffee/deli business and a 2nd one across the street. When we ate at a restaurant, we were able to easily walk to them. It was a perfect place for us to use as a basecamp to hope in the car and explore the area but to also stay in for grilling and having a fire in the back yard. Will definitely look for availability of this house for my next trip to Ely.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
The property could not be accessed for a couple of hours after our arrival because the app to open the door lock had not been synced, according to our VRBO host. After finally entering the house we found it was heated to only 56 degrees. We turned up the thermostat to 70 and after 4 hours the temperature had only risen to 62 degrees. At bedtime the temperature was still so low that sitting on the toilet felt like sitting on ice, The bedding also felt ice cold.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, David. I am truly sorry for the frustrating start to your stay and for the discomfort you experienced that first evening.
When you first reached out at 5:30 pm about access, I responded within minutes and was able to resolve the lock syncing issue right away so you could enter the home. I understand how stressful that delay can feel after a long drive, and I regret that it happened at all.
Later that evening when you let me know the home felt cold, I apologized immediately, checked the system remotely, and confirmed that the heat was functioning and actively warming the house. Because this is an older home, the upstairs can take longer to heat and tends to stay cooler than the main level, which I explained along with options to help the space warm more quickly. I continued monitoring the temperature to ensure it was rising.
That said, I completely understand that first impressions matter, and I am sorry the home was not as warm and welcoming as it should have been upon your arrival. Since your stay, we have implemented additional steps with our cleaning team to ensure the heat is set to a comfortable temperature well before check in so future guests do not encounter this again.
I appreciate you sharing your experience, as it helps us continue improving and providing better stays for our guests.
