Relaxing Birthday Weekend

This lovely place is quiet. The bed was so comfortable. Everything we could possibly need was there. Mike, the owner was so very kind. We enjoyed our time in the hot tub and looking at the stars. Good hot water and pressure in the shower. We couldn't figure out how to work the Dish Tv, but that's just operator error....didn't need to be watching anyway when there is so much beauty outside like the baby lamb I got to pet.

We had a fantastic time. The house was comfortable and quiet. It reminded both of us of our grandparents homes. It was almost like spending the weekend with granny. The location is great. Near town, but far enough to be quiet and dark. Watching the stars from the private hot tub while sipping wine is magnificent. We had a minor glitch with the hot tub, but Mike took care of it long before we needed it. Mike is a GREAT host. I definitely would recommend staying here.

Our stay at the August Schmidt cottage was Amazing! This intimate space was very cozy and the view of the country was priceless! Our host was such a joy and a gentleman. He definitely set the tone by jump starting our adventure with a bottle of wine and ending it with fresh eggs straight from his free range chickens. The place was well stocked and furnished and was decorated with interesting antique decor. The bed slept comfortably especially after our rendezvous on Main Street. We can't rate this place high enough. All we can sincerely express is that we look forward to visiting the August Schmidt cottage again in the near future! Thank You MR. MIKE for such a lovely experience!!!

Perfect weekend getaway

This was the perfect weekend getaway. The property is out in the country to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to the main attractions to not have to drive far. The abundance of deer was amazing! The rustic decor and old farmhouse setting was just as interesting as shown in the pictures. Mike was wonderful. He left us with a bottle of wine on our arrival and fresh eggs upon departing. He even provided us with a wonderful dinner location. We will definitely book again when we want a weekend getaway!

Cute and quiet place

This is a very cute place! Less than 10 min from Main Street. Far enough away to be secluded, but a short drive to town! There was miscommunication between the owner and rental property, so the owner was not aware of us coming. Which would explain the bathroom floor a little dirty, and lightbulbs that were out. The light bulbs that did work were very dim. I had to use my flashlight on my phone a lot if I was looking for something. But at the same time makes it very cozy. The ceiling fans had quite a bit of dust on them, so I didn’t want to use them. But the best part was sitting in the hot tub at night under the stars! That was incredible! I recommend staying here. I assume there will be better communication in the future and the place will look a little better when you arrive. Thanks for a great stay!
