Chic Beach Retreat, Steps to Swimming, Tennis & All Of Glp Amenities

Hi Brenna, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry about the bedrails not being up on the top bunk beds. They are there however, in the bedroom closet. Our prior guest did not want them up, so I had put them away in the closet and totally forgot about putting them back up again for your stay. So my overlook. Hope to see you and your family back again. It was a pleasure having you stay. You were the perfect guest! Thanks again! Katy

We regret to see your review given we take such pride in keeping our home in perfect condition for guests to ensure their stay is exceptional. We feel lucky that out of all our guests, who have collectively left us hundreds of 5-star reviews across our 4 properties, you are the first who ever felt our home was ‘musty’. We wish you had left more details about what you communicated was unsatisfactory, and why you actually decided to leave a 1 star review. Since you haven't, we feel it's only fair to share these details so others can make judgement for themselves. First, we’re sorry we weren’t able to control the sound of birds chirping in a nest outside. We hoped that by sending a contractor to soundproof your room, opening another bedroom, and providing earplugs, we could alleviate the discomfort this caused you. We understand you were upset we could not exterminate the birds or remove the nest, but this is illegal in CT. Many of our guests enjoy sounds of nature and do not find this kind of noise a disturbance. Second, we regret you did not find the 80 cable television channels available sufficient. We do not advertise offering HBO or Showtime and we are confused as to why your expectations about this were different. Third, we’re sorry you couldn’t find the light switch for the porch. We wish you expressed this concern, so we could have simply shown you how the lights work. We would have done so promptly if you made us aware of the problem at any point during your stay. Fourth, we’re sorry we were not able to lower our price despite your request and threat ‘to leave a bad review’ if we did not. We don't think it’s fair for guests to hold hosts hostage for unwillingness to re-negotiate when the price has already been agreed upon. It’s very suspicious that all your complaints were reserved until the day of your departure, and that out of all your complaints ‘musty’ was never mentioned. The timing and the nature of your complaints, your requests and threats are only consistent with trying to receive compensation rather than addressing legitimate concerns. Last, we’d like to point out that you did not stay during June as your review states, you stayed during May, and you did not pay 'full summer rates'. Despite these falsifications, it’s important to note that our home is open, available and visited year round--there is not an 'on’ or ‘off’ season. Our home is equally beautiful, welcoming and prepared in December as it is in July or anytime of the year!
