Reconnect with nature but with all the amenities. You'll treasure your time at the memorable Turtle Cove Cottage at Salt Springs Resort. Come and visit this gated resort located in the heart of the 387,000 acre Ocala National forest, with a pier, fishing, and beach on the spring fed lake - nestled amidst 100- year-old Oaks covered in Spanish moss.
Our Resort is beautiful, rich in nature, with big small-town charm. We also have lots of amenities like: Bingo, poker, yoga, and more in our clubhouse. There is a large pool overlooking the lake. Enjoy the tennis courts, shuffleboard, playground, horseshoes, corn hole, and gameroom, even live bands on weekends under the pavilion with dance floor included. Sometimes food trucks visit, or go to the convenience market, Subway, or Pizza place, The Dollar General is right next door.
For the safety and relaxation of everyone, this is a gated HOA community. As such all guests must sign off on site rules before arriving. After a reservation is made, a form will arrive in your text from the Gatehouse. Their fee is $35 for this service. Once onsite, you can come and go as you please. All guests must be registered at the gatehouse before entering.
Guests who do not comply with the site rules may be asked to leave. In the agreement, please acknowledge the rules and provide any boat or golf cart information. If neither applies, enter “N/A.” After completing the Docusign agreement, you will receive your QR code by text. Your personalized QR code may not be shared for entry. We recommend adding it to your phone’s wallet for easier access, as cell service in the park may be limited.
If more than one person in your party needs gate access, additional QR codes may be purchased at the gate for $15 each, or just have them park at the business next door and pickup/dropoff. QR codes are also required for golf cart re-entry when leaving the park. Golf carts may only be operated by licensed drivers aged 16 or older. Under Florida law, children under 16 must wear a helmet when riding bikes, scooters, and similar devices.
You can ride your quads, dirt bikes, and jeeps across the road. The Ocala North OHV Trail System offers 125 miles of trail which includes a 14-mile motorcycle-only trail; 35 miles of trail usable by motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and utility vehicles (UTVs) less than 50 inches wide; and 76 miles classified as "mixed use," which means OHVs share the trail with licensed vehicles. The Salt Springs Recreation area is right down the street with an average of 72 degree temperature salt water. Guests can also enjoy other close springs like Silver Glen, Alexander, and Juniper.
Turtle Cove Cottage is in the middle of the Ocala forest, Florida’s oldest national forest, encompassing over 600 lakes and rivers well suited for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and boating. There are hundreds of miles of unique walking trails through the forest, with plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting, bird watching, and photography. And I hear, the hunting is good too.
Whether enjoying a relaxing campfire by the beach with family or friends, or any of the multiple things to do, you will find the area unique, diverse, and accommodating to a great life style. Something for everyone! Come enjoy all we have to offer!
