About this property

Ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or just relax in the mountains away from the city.

The Snow is flying! Our cabin is our family jewel, a place to relax and get away from the city. We are just off the ski hill at Summit East ski area (Hyak) at Snoqualmie Pass. Walk to the hill or enjoy three other areas, Summit Central, Summit West, or Alpental, within a five minute drive. In the off season, come enjoy the beauty of the mountains and all the outdoor recreation the area has to offer.

After skiing, hiking, biking or golfing enjoy a beautiful dry sauna, or enjoy time relaxing, listening to music on the deck or in front of the fire.

Just 25 minutes away is Suncadia; a world-class resort with fine restaurants, and the Swiftwater Winery. Golfers will love the Prospector course designed by Arnold Palmer, the Rope Rider course designed by Peter Jacobson and Tumble Creek the private course designed by Tom Doak. You may also enjoy winter activities at Suncadia like cross country skiing and ice skating.

We have four bedrooms; all with queen beds. There are two full-baths and a half-bath.

We love to cook so the kitchen is fully equipped and ready for your family. The house does not have a formal dining room. So with a lot of people meals can be crowded but lively and festive.

The sauna and mud room are downstairs giving you a clean and comfortable space to store gear and warm up after a hard day on the slopes. There is also a space downstairs for kids to escape to watch movies away from the adult area upstairs. A full laundry room is also downstairs. There is an office upstairs.

You can expect a clean nice home with beautiful views, privacy and peace. You will have access to four ski areas, great hiking, biking and golfing.

Our cabin is unique because it is so close to the city of Seattle, yet so far away.

Snow fun with family
This cabin/home was perfect to stay in with adults and kids. So close to a great free sledding hill at Hyak. We just walked there. It snowed two days which was awesome. Roads were kept plowed. No problem driving around.

Lovely hosts
Cabin was cozy and very conveniently located in Hyak. Kitchen was well equipped (had everything we needed to make a variety of dishes from cakes to ramen)! Wood fired fireplace was dreamy and sauna was great for post skiing. Rick couldn’t have been a better host. Very communicative, accommodating and welcoming. We were so grateful for our time there.

You have to stay here
We had an amazing time at this house. It was very clean and well stocked with the essentials. The owner was available via this app the whole time we were there. He sent detailed instructions for everything. Such a great location. We were able to ski, snowmobile and tube all in one weekend! We will be back for sure!

About the host

Hosted by Rick Jewett

Host profile image
We are a family who love to travel and meet new people. We love skiing, golfing, hiking and biking. We also love the beach and look forward to adventures as a family and on our own. VRBO and Home Away will help us meet new people and explore new places in the world. We will be respectful guests and will expect the same as hosts.

Why they chose this property

We bought this weekend get-away because it is 55-minutes from Seattle yet so far away. In the winter the snow is light therapy from the rain in Seattle and in the Summer the mountains are beautiful to explore.
