Venice Beach Rooftop 3bd + 3bath, parking, 31+ days
This thoughtfully designed Venice Beach retreat blends privacy, indoor/outdoor living, Mid-Century character and eco-conscious comfort in one of LA’s most iconic coastal neighborhoods. Tucked behind tall private fences and remote-operated gates, the home feels like a secluded Venice compound just steps from the beach, boardwalk, Abbot Kinney’s boutiques, galleries, cafés and dining.
LIVING SPACES The three-level home is designed for relaxed coastal living, longer stays and flexible use. It can function as a traditional 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom residence, or select rooms can be prepared as offices, workspaces, media rooms or creative rooms depending on your needs.
The primary suite features a California king four-poster bed and a spa-style bathroom with freestanding tub. Upstairs, there is also a versatile office / projection room that works beautifully as a media room, reading room, creative workspace or additional lounge.
The lower level includes a separate bedroom suite with full bathroom, an open living room with lounge / TV area, full kitchen, dining area and direct access to the outdoor dining deck, BBQ area and large convertible ping-pong dining table. Throughout the home, enjoy blackout blinds, smart TVs, streaming, abundant storage and comfortable spaces to settle in.
FLEXIBLE SETUP The house is listed as a true 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom home, but the layout is highly flexible. Bedrooms can remain set up for sleeping, or select rooms can be prepared as offices, workspaces, creative rooms, wardrobe / prep areas or media spaces. This makes the home especially well suited for families, longer stays, executives, remote workers, relocations, writers, editors and creative guests who want both privacy and functional space.
INDOOR / OUTDOOR LIVING The home offers approximately 2,000 sq ft of private outdoor living across wraparound decks, a rooftop lounge and ground-level deck areas. The 1,000 sq ft rooftop deck is ideal for morning coffee, yoga, sunbathing, reading, outdoor dining or sunset drinks. The ground-level deck includes a Weber BBQ, outdoor heaters, lounge seating, dining space and a large table that can also be used for ping-pong.
Surrounded by tall privacy fencing, the outdoor areas feel peaceful and secluded while still being moments from the energy of Venice Beach.
NATURAL BEACH COMFORT The house was carefully designed and insulated for Venice’s mild beach climate, where natural ocean breezes and cross-ventilation keep the home comfortable. Most days, all you need to do is open the windows, let the air move through the house and enjoy the smell of the ocean.
ECO-CONSCIOUS FEATURES The home includes thoughtful comfort and sustainability features: - reverse osmosis water filtration - dedicated alkaline drinking water - steam shower - radiant heating - natural ocean-breeze ventilation - organic / eco-conscious supplies where possible - cotton linens and mindful household products
PRACTICAL LUXURIES - well-equipped full kitchen - smart TVs and streaming - Sonos sound system - blackout blinds - professional cleaning - dedicated property manager / co-host support during your stay - gated property access - parking may be available by prior arrangement
MUSIC CONNECTIVITY The home has Sonos sound in three areas: - side yard deck by the outdoor dining table - living room - upstairs projection / media room Guests can connect through the Sonos S1 app.
Whether you are here to vacation, live, work, write, edit, explore galleries, enjoy Abbot Kinney, host a quiet family stay, or simply live privately by the beach and surf, Venice Beach Rooftop House offers a rare mix of space, design, privacy and flexibility. In cooler months, guests are asked to use heating and indoor/outdoor energy mindfully.

We loved staying in this hip home! GREAT location, walked everywhere. Parking is a bit of a challenge but we always managed to find a spot. The owner was very attentive with any issues. We greatly appreciated that! Comfortable and spacious and well decorated! Private and secure. Lovely all the way around.

Pleasure to host, would love to see them back again. Thank you.
We were in town for a collage graduation. Our family of 6 adults enjoyed the house and the location. There was plenty of space and walkable access to both Abbott Kinney shops and restaurants and the beach. Trickiest part of the stay was the on property parking. It’s very tight, even for compact cars and took planning and careful maneuvering.

value for money issue
while the house is nice the value for money is below expectation as we experienced essential items missing (i.e. paper towels, broom, tissues, detergent for laundry) or not working ( no gas in grill, no lighter to) or very old and not properly working (i.e. dryer smells and does not really dry). One would simply expect more for 950 USD per night before tax, cleaning, etc.

So sorry to hear you had a bad experience, we dont usually encounter these issues. But if you would have reached out we would have given you more information where to find all these items you needed. Unfortunately we dont provide paper towels for enviromental reasons but should have had the rest of the things you needed. I hope you will come back as we would love to make it up to you with a family and friend discount. Thank you for your feedback.
Great location for our activities in Santa Monica. We were lucky and found parking right in front of the building on Main Street twice! The parking at the property looked more challenging than it actually was. Loved it, thank you!
The house was perfect. You couldn’t have a better location next to all the shops and restaurants on Abbot Kinney, plus you are next to the beach, dog park, and much more. We cooked dinner one night and hung out on the deck and relaxed. It’s a cool place. Would recommend it.
Nice space with cool California vibes! Lacking a few essentials.
Great spot to vacation! The property was a short 5 min walk to the Venice boardwalk. The alleyway got a little loud at night but I felt comfortable behind the secure gate and wall. The property was nice, the bedding was soft and relaxing. The steam shower was amazing! There were plenty of towels and shower essentials and the robes were a nice touch. We couldn’t ever find a broom so that would be helpful to have just because of all the sand. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. The only thing I would say as constructive criticism is the place needs a deep deep clean and also some reorganization. Most drawers, cabinets and shelves were just stuffed full of random things.

Thank you Rachael for your kind words and constructive criticism.
This home is unique, safe, aesthetically creative and has private and stunning outdoor spaces.
First the communication with the owner and property manager was excellent. We were visiting one of our adult children who is living in LA over the Christmas holidays.
Check in was smooth and instructions were clear. We were 3 in total and the house could easily accommodate the 6 max that I believe the description outlines.
This home is clearly owned by a creative person: interesting artwork, photography and books galore.
The kitchen is small but in an open plan first floor. The oven was not able to be unlocked during our stay but houses have quirks and we adapted.
The weather was rainy and so we couldn’t enjoy the amazing rooftop, huge and comfortable first floor deck/grill/seating. In good weather, there is so much to enjoy outdoors with this property.
We felt safe with the sliding gates that secure the property.
Again, communication was excellent, a sense of welcome was evident. We felt the price was more than fair for this unique home.
Thank you for sharing your home.
Artfully decorated Venice Beach sanctuary tucked in an alley close to Abbot Kinney shops and restaurants and a few short blocks from the beach. Loved the outdoor deck, jewel box of a kitchen, nicely appointed bathrooms with a European feel and wonderful upstairs area with plenty of room to sleep 4. Bold and beautiful photography covers many of the walls, with special treats viewed through exterior windows, along with interesting and eclectic objets d'art throughout the 2-level space. Oval bathtub with wonderful lighting made for a zen experience. Top deck is perfect for soaking up the Cali sunshine. Owner/manager were extremely fair in requests and thoroughly responsive on app. No fault of owner, but location of house is somewhat noisy as it sits off of Main Street and with open windows, there was quite a bit of activity. Do note that alley ways in this area are narrow for pulling a car into the provided gated parking space. Definitely check out this property; it's a sweet pad and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.
Lovely home, with a healthy and warm charm. Perfect getaway spot, convenient for a variety of tastes. Host was consistently attentive to all requests and queries.

Great location. Very cozy.
Well kept. Clean. Really cute place. We walked everywhere.
The Wifi was great. There was a desk and a table so we each had our own space to work.
Wish there were parking, more clothes hangers in the closets, and cable.
I probably would get this for my teenage boys next time they go to LA.
