The host was very helping with prompt responses. The place is situated in a great part of town with excellent amenities close by. Not much driving needed if downtown is your destination.
Excellent location, easy access with parking behind the brownstone like accommodation. Would definitely revisit this location for easy access to Halifax downtown and waterfront.
Location! This apartment is just steps away from some fantastic restaurants and markets. It is perfect as is with beautiful floors, two bathrooms, and a comfortable bed. The only thing I would add is a reading lamp in the sitting room. I would definitely return to this same apartment again.
Excellent location near the water downtown. Easy check in, convenient parking in historic 1869 building. Wonderful dining nearby. Everything at your fingertips...
This is amazing accommodation in the heart of Halifax. Great architecture and a homelike setting with all of the conveniences. Front and back doors and convenient and free parking. One of the best places I have stayed and I would highly recommend it.
Good location - ideal for the two of us and our dog. Easy walk to the boardwalk, restaurants and shops. Comfortable place to spend a few nights and a charming building.
The property was close to as pictured. It is nicely furnished and had clean bedsing and towels. The location is perfect for taking a walk along the waterfront. The tv remote batteries gave out an hour into us watching tv at night, so we had to unplug it to turn it off. The bathroom off the kitchen is small and the door can't open all the way, but thats a minor issue. Parking direcrly behi d the house is convenient and easy with access to the back door once you get your keys from the front door foyer. I would stay there again.

I don’t normally write reviews but was pretty happy with this spot.
Stayed here for a few days with my husband and our 2 little kids. Location was excellent especially with kids, easily walkable to the harbour front where we spent all of our time. Very clean so we immediately felt comfortable, and loved the bedroom space as well as living room space to hang out.
Also, 5 min walk to the grocery store and a spot to grab wine / beer.
Communication with our hosts was also very smooth which we appreciated.
Thank you!
This place is a total keeper if you're looking for history, charm, and location! It's located next to everything- both the modern and historical Halifax. We loved every minute of our stay and our host was lovely and communicative. The only thing, and it was only a minor issue, was the pullout bed. Since I'm the snorer in our group of three college friends traveling without our husbands, I'm the one that usually gets the pullout bed while my two non-snorer friends get the 'real bed' because we can usually shut some doors, etc. I'm 5'10" and 15 pounds heavier than I should be (for real, no bigger than that) and while the pullout was ok, if you are going to be traveling with a much bigger or heavier person, they will likely need to take the bed while others take the pullout. Again, not a big deal, but since we were there three nights, it won't be a good fit for a group of travelers that need a pullout for a big person.Other than that? We loved, loved, loved this lovely place.
Terrific location. Very pleasant flat. BUT it is not suitable for a longer stay unless you are fine living out of your suitcase. There is no dresser nor shelvers so forget about "unpacking." There IS a very small armoire but it will allow hanging up about 5 shirts and again no drawers in it. Also, oddly not a pleasant place to relax in in the evening because the only illumination in the LR is from the overhead light you see in the photo, and it's not on a dimmer switch so it's too dim to really read comfortably and too bright to watch TV when you want the lights turned down but not off. Shame. Similar situation in the BR, with only 2 small lights on either side of the bed placed on tiny stools about 2 feet high, so need to reach down to use them. Finally, the shower bathroom is very pleasant but unusually tiny and the shower itself is so small that it was not possible for me to bend at the waist to pick up a dropped bar of soap; had to squat. I'm 5'9. Those who can't fit comfortably in a standard airline seat may have trouble even entering the shower. Many of these caveats are easy fixes and were communicated to the host, who seemed extremely receptive, so check back to see if they have been addressed since October 2025.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
I'll start with what was good. The checkin process was easy. The location of the building was excellent, couple block easy walk to the boardwalk and great restaurants. The response from the management team was also prompt. The not-so-good: The location of the unit with single paned windows made it quite noisy. Can hear people talking as they walk by, and all the working trucks early in the morning. The TV remote was missing, but a manager came by with a bag full of remotes (none were the brand of the TV). When they didnt work, she came back with a TV. Unfortunately, left the original TV blocking the lovely fireplace. There is no place for clothes, other than a tiny wardrobe with 4 hangers, no shelves. The bad: the misrepresentation of sleeping options. The unit is advertised to sleep 4. A queen bed in the bedroom and a queen sofabed in the living room. This is not true. The sofa bed is not a bed. It has an air mattress on the sofabed frame. An air mattress that required the manager to come by to inflate, and which deflated within 2 hours. And finally, the awful: Mice.

Response from VrboOwner on 21 Oct 2025
We appreciate the positive comments in this review and are glad the guest enjoyed our location and responsiveness. We were surprised to receive this review, as no complaints were made during the stay—aside from a small TV remote issue we promptly addressed—and the guest even requested to extend their stay, which we were unable to accommodate due to full occupancy.
Our street-front windows are double-paned, designed to preserve the building’s historic charm while minimizing outside noise. Being in Halifax’s downtown historic district means there is some natural city activity, similar to other nearby hotels.
The unit includes suitcase racks, an antique armoire, and a closet for storage. Sleeping arrangements feature a queen bed, a queen pull-out with a deluxe air mattress, and a single pull-out, as stated in our listing. No mattress issues were reported during the stay, and we would have responded immediately had we been informed.
Like all downtown properties, we manage seasonal pest activity with a professional pest-control program and have had no recent issues. We remain committed to being responsive, transparent, and maintaining a high standard of comfort and cleanliness for every guest.
Great location! Comfortable bed. Very quiet. Free parking. Bright spacious living room. Responsive and helpful property managers. Only complaint is that the stove wasn’t working properly. When we let them know, the manager brought over an air fryer/toaster oven and an induction countertop burner. This helped but cooking dinners was still a little tricky. If they fix the oven issue then this place is perfect.
