Step into this historic home, originally known as the Jesse Benton Building, built in 1882. Experience all Ouray has to offer from the heart of town. Conveniently located right around the corner from Main Street with one of kind retail shops, authentic restaurants and destination points of interest.
After a day of adventure relax in the living room with cathedral ceilings, leather furnishings, a 70-inch TV and views of the iconic Ouray night sky. Or step out onto the back courtyard and prepare your favorite outdoor meal on the community propane grill.
Guests also enjoy cooking a well-deserved meal in the kitchenette with a full-size oven range, refrigerator and plenty of the kitchen cookware. Or, skip the cooking and enjoy a special destination meal at a local restaurant on Main Street.
When you are ready to retire for the evening, sink into the ultra comfortable King bed in the spacious bedroom with a seating area and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower.
A stackable washer and dryer are provided with SOJO welcome cleaning supplies, including laundry detergent pods.
This vacation suite is located on the ground level and the entire home is on one floor.

ABOUT THIS HISTORIC LANDMARK HOME:
Built in 1882, the Jesse Benton Building was the first framed stick Eastlake two-story structure constructed in Ouray. What is currently the living room was orignially a bar with billiards. The space was then transitioned into a newsprint office. Since that time the first floor space was occupied with a variety of retail and commercial businesses, including "Silver Slugs" fire arms clubhouse, The Woman's Club of Ouray meeting room, Ouray Glass Works, a frame shop, Ouray Yoga and Mojo's Coffee.
The original owner and proprietor, Jesse Benton, served in the Civil War with Company First Colorado Calvary, 1862. After the war he became a private lawman hired by mountain mining towns to establish law and order. Benton organized the Ouray "Sharp Shooter's" and survived three decades of law enforcement in the San Juans.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.
