About this property

Wildflower Tiny Cabin & Majestic Waterfall

A tiny cabin in an enchanted forest above a sacred waterfall. Follow a small trail below a red barn silo through wildflowers and wild medicines to your forest home. Spend the day at the waterfall exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 380 million year old gorge. Return to your cabin, make a fire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the waterfall and the river below. A truly magical place! This is a quiet campsite. No parties. You must bring your own sheets and blankets!
The space
NOTE: From Nov. 1 - April 1 there is no water available at the tiny cabin campsites. There is still a port-a-potty, but you musit bring your own water for washing and drinking.

Kahonrakén:ra, The White Spiral Waterfall, is a world unto itself. The majestic waterfall is a sacred site revered for its spectacular beauty and powerfully restorative energy. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into a hidden pool, which then empties again into the river, running into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. The effect is transporting. Truly, it is one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that makes you feel like you are in another world.

Out of respect and consideration for Kanienkeha:ka (also known a the Mohawks) who are returning to their ancestral homelands and reconnecting with sacred sites in the Valley, we ask that you keep things chill and in alignment with the the healing process that has been guided by the waterfall and the all the ancestors of the land.

At the Tiny Forest Cabin there is a picnic table, fire pit and a few flat areas to pitch an extra tent if needed. There is a queen bed, a single certi-pur foam floor mattress and three pillows. Bedding is NOT provided. Please bring your own sheets, pillowcases and towels. There is no plumbing or wifi at the cabin. There is a pedestal fan and a power strip for phone charging, etc.

This is a private site with your own private path down to the waterfall and swimming holes, which is about a 10 minute walk from the cabin You will not be sharing the Tiny Hemp Cabin site with others. There is a second cabin through the forest that is not in view of your cabin, but please be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the distance. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and please keep noise down after 10pm so that everyone can enjoy the peaceful sounds of the countryside.

Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.

At the top of the path by the big red barn there is a community room with a large refrigerator, charging station, sink, coffee maker and two port-a-potties. Feel free to fill the water jug provided with drinking water from the hose and bring it to the cabin for your use.

The tiny forest cabin is across the road from a traditional Haudenosaunee Longhouse still under construction. Search for the Waterfall Unity Alliance online to learn more about local work supporting the return of the Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (Mohawk) people to the valley and the land rematriation and healing process underway.

This is a leave no trace campsite. Please take all your trash with you when you leave. And please bring your own toilet paper for the port-a-potty!

Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. Instructions for payment are at the red barn. The wood is stacked at your campsite as well as next to the red toolshed just uphill from the barn. You can also buy your own fire wood en route.

The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms with fresh produce and organic meat within 5 miles of the house.

Enjoy!!!!
Other things to note
NOTE: From Nov. 1 - April 1 there is no water available at the tiny cabin campsites. There is still a port-a-potty, but you musit bring your own water for washing and drinking.

There are no standing hot water showers onsite. The showers are seasonal solar shower bags that are available in the community barn area. You need ot fill them and heat them in the sun and hang on a tree to shower (there is a shower stall with a tree and showerbag hook at your campsite).

This is a leave no trace glamping experience, so expect simple amenities (port a potty, drinking water hose, outdoor cooking over the fire, and to pack your trash in and out.
