The apartment is on the lower level of a historic building, built in 1905 and fully renovated by us in 2020-21. It's a 356 square foot studio, with well-appointed kitchen, and a small bathroom.
Review highlights: "Can’t beat the location! They’ve thought of every detail. Highly recommend." "A cute, cozy place in the perfect Bellingham location. We loved it and will stay here again."
This space is best for for one or two people who want to have direct access to downtown, while relaxing and/or working remotely. The apartment faces a city street, and especially during the day you'll hear some traffic noise, and see pedestrians walking by. The location is great if you like to be "in the thick of things," and not great if you're looking for "secluded and quiet." If you're interested in a somewhat larger apartment in the same building, search AirBnb for "Stylish and Spacious Downtown Studio" to see our other unit.
The building was originally a church rectory, then converted into an apartment building. A friendly woman lives in the unit directly above. The floor/ceiling is well-insulated, but you may hear her walking around her apartment from time to time.
Other details about the space: -There are security cameras outside over the front door, over the front door of the adjacent unit, over the parking lot, and inside the laundry room. The apartment interior is not visible on any of the security cameras. -The WiFi is typically fast, and if you want to work there is a desk and also the kitchen table. -There's a great sounding Bluetooth speaker in the drawer of the living room table. -You can sign into your own accounts on the 4K Roku TV. -The laundry room is located through the door next to the unit and we will provide the code before check in. We supply a starter pack of detergent pods. The laundry room is shared with other guests/renters. -All windows are double-pane and the walls and ceiling are insulated, which reduces noise. -All windows have blinds for privacy. -There are two electric wall heaters and a portable fan. This apartment does not have air conditioning. -The kitchen has a small oven and range, plus pots, pans, utensils, and the basics needed for cooking. -There is a drip coffee maker, French press, and a starter supply of drip coffee. -Extra pillows, blankets, and towels are provided. -The unit is licensed as a short term rental with the City of Bellingham, permit number USE2021-0012.

The space was very clean and organized, with great use of the space to include a full kitchen, tub, and spacious bedroom. Fantastic location. Can’t wait to stay again!
This is a superbly appointed studio, and is decorated beautifully. The host was very quick to respond to questions. The unit was perfectly clean, and everything was labeled, so easy to find what you were looking for. The dedicated parking spot was a nice bonus, as street parking in the area can be challenging. It was a quick walk to downtown eateries and shops. We were very comfortable there, and would definitely stay there again. That said, this is a downtown location, and it does come with some noise. Both traffic, and walkers-by. It generally quieted down by sleep hours, but it was distracting at times.
